I think Dr Pompo was great. His office staff how ever is not. I understand Drs get busy and things come up in a busy practice. I have had to reschedule several appointments on their direction. Now I sit in a rehab recovering from knee surgery and today I painfully got into a car for my rescheduled time and was told I did not have an appointment. I mean how hard it is to type my name in a computer? I love the care but get it together or I won't be back.

I went in on January 26,2023 for a total knee replacement. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They explained everything. The nurses and anesthesiologist. Made sure I was comfortable and talked me through everything and took my stress away. The surgical staff made sure I was comfortable. Next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room. I don’t remember who the nurses were in recovery, but they checked in on me. They asked me if I needed any drink or crackers and how I was feeling I would highly recommend his office.!!!

The staff was awesome very friendly. Went there from 2006 until 2020 never had any complaints until I had knee surgery and from there it went down hill. But I was given a new doctor's name in Hartford to go to and everything went very well. Thank you Dr. Pompo for Dr. Witmer he was awesome.

From start to finish everything went extremely well, with my first hip injection. Dr. Pompo explained what was happening, and when, which did a lot to alleviate my concerns. The doctor and his staff were courteous, informative and efficient. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

My experience with Frank Pompo was the worst physician interaction I have ever experienced.
I visited the practice for the first time with some pain in my left knee. Never had any knee issues and I thought I may need some PT. Upon arriving at the practice I had an X-ray taken of both knees.
Dr. Pompo walked in the room appearing very disheveled did not greet me and looked at me as if I was wasting his time. He demonstrated very little interest in my condition. After I briefly told him I was experiencing occasional severe pain in one knee, he blurted out with zero compassion "you have really severe arthritis in both knees." He did not ask me any questions.... Caught me by complete surprise. I tried to ask questions and get some information about next steps, what it means etc. Dr. Pompo was irritated and clearly trying to restrain his annoyance with my questions. He was unhelpful, impatient, and left me with the impression that there was nothing to be done at this point. I was to "keep moving." "Some other doctors would recommend a knee replacement," he said. I did not know what to think...
My knee was swollen and he said he could drain it if I wanted it drained. I said I would rely on his expertise and if he believed it would be helpful then yes, let's drain the knee.
Dr. Pompo said he would numb the area. I never had a knee drained before. He applied some solution to the side of my knee and within a very short time shoved a needle into my knee. The knee was not at all numb. The pain was so swift, great and unbearable. I Involuntarily rose up and loudly cried out. I immediately got off the table and said I am done with you and it's over. I told him how his behavior during the course of the appointment was below a standard of care. I walked out of the office extremely upset and shaken. He asked me if I wanted to "sit down." I did not want to be in his presence one more second. ( I am a 62 year old healthy woman who has given birth 3 times. I am not unaccustomed to pain - this procedure was unnecessarily painful.)

I called the office the next day to voice my concerns about this doctor. The office manager assured me that my "concerns" would be addressed by the partners. I hope the partners at this practice talked with this doctor for the sake of other patients.

I visited another practice and was met with compassion, kindness, competence and a diagnosis. The practice had anatomical models (unlike Dr. Pompo's practice) and sophisticated digital imaging that they shared with me. Their tools and the doctor's patience helped me to fully understand my issue and their recommended course of action.
The new physician ordered an MRI which revealed a meniscus issue which now has been surgically corrected. I am recovering well under this new doctor who has answered questions, made inquiries and has treated me so well. I feel so much better.

** WORTH NOTING - I had my knee drained 2 weeks after surgery. It was a PAINLESS procedure. Absolutely no problem...

I strongly do not recommend Dr. Pompo. He was arrogant, impatient, and uncaring. He gave me no helpful information - no diagnosis beyond the apparent arthritis - and did not recommend any further examination of my knee. As the physician I went to after Dr. Pompo identified, in fact I had a torn meniscus that was treatable with surgery - the cause of the discomfort that caused me to seek a physician's care.

worst doctor visit in years. Dr Pompo was unfriendly - no eye contact on initial meet and greet. Seemed annoyed that i was there and couldn't wait for me to leave. i took the trouble of gathering an X-ray disk from previous doctor and had the staff download it plus typed up a history of my 10 year long condition. Never even looked at any of it. Seems to just be looking for a reason to do surgery. Office was dated - staff too busy playing with a puppy to check me out. Not going back

I had a partial knee replacement done by Dr Pompo. The whole experience was positive.
Surgeons can at times be a little standoffish
but Dr. Pompo was always kind and caring.
I found the whole staff to be very good.
I would definitely go back again.
