If I could rate it zero stars I would. This was absolutely the worst outpatient surgical facility experience I have ever had. It was run like a production factory.

The first red flag was being told they were legally required to take all life saving measures possible and do not honor Advanced Directives. It is not accurate to state they are legally required to do so. It is a chosen policy of a specific healthcare facility to honor or not honor Advanced Directives. If their policy is not to honor them, the person at the registration should have told me instead of asking for mine and putting it in my chart.

The nurses were unfriendly and uncaring. I had a complication after the procedure and the nurse treated me like I was the problem. She also was trying to ignore I had a problem and rush me to get dressed and out of the center. I had to insist on seeing the physician and getting treatment. I could go and on, but will leave it at this. In summary, I would strongly recommend avoiding this center for your care at all costs.

Absolutely amazing. I’ve never had surgery or anything of the sort so I was nervous. I got a tonsillectomy and it went very smoothly. All of the nurses and doctors and anesthesiologist were so nice and truly caring. I’m not good with IV’s and I started fainting and the nurse got me a cold wash cloth, a nasal cannula for extra oxygen, laid my bed down and was fanning the blanket for me. Thank you so much for treating me like someone you care about!

Avoid this place at all costs. My first surgical experience was a nightmare because of Manatee Surgical Center (MSC). It was so bad, I had to have a revision surgery, so I found another, more competent hospital. MSC never called me to tell me what time to come in for surgery. They didn’t even call my wife to tell her when surgery was over so she could come sit with me. They don’t allow family or anyone to sit with you in pre-op, so I waited for 2.5 hours by myself listening to the stressful environment that goes on behind the scenes in pre-op. Post-surgery was even worse. The anesthesia combined with all the meds they gave me throughout the day caused me to wake up ghost-white and vomiting. The doctor or nurses never came out to tell my wife how the surgery went or how I was doing, so seeing me like this after surgery had her extremely worried. Despite all of this, MSC basically pushed us out 10 minutes later, so I went home to continue vomiting all day and night. MSC never did pre-op bloodwork (a standard process prior to surgery) to make sure everything was healthy prior to surgery.
The hospital I went to after the ordeal at MSC did pre-op blood work the day before, allowed my wife to sit with me in pre-op, communicated everything on time so there was no additional stress, made sure I was comfortable, and the anesthesia team talked with me about what they would do to make sure I didn’t have negative results. Now I know just how bad Manatee Surgical Center is having a comparison of how surgery should go.

I had some questions about a procedure and the office process, and called multiple times to speak to Linda and was told id get a call back from her. She never returned my calls or ever spoke with me when I called for her multiple times. Horrible communication.

Even though it's been a tough handful of days from a difficult 2/5/24 procedure, and a long road is still ahead, I could not have asked for a better team of nurses, Dr Ben Kelly, anesthesiology, etc.. I thank each and every person involved in my care. My nurse was thorough, professional, and very caring!

Very very happy with this place! Both of my sons needed dental surgery and it went so smooth. The nurses and staff are absolutely amazing and Dr. Botero did an amazing job on my sons teeth.
