Where do I start? Dr. Hackett, his staff and the whole Steadman Clinic have surpassed all expectations. I simply cannot say enough good about our experience. Appointments were on time and thorough, all procedures were explained in detail, the professionalism displayed by the staff was second to none. I now understand why the Steadman Clinic and Dr. Tom Hackett are the BEST. This is what all Dr's and clinics should aspire to be. Thank you for getting my son on the mend.

Dr Hacket is an extremely skilled and caring Orthopedic Surgeon.
I had a ski accident where I dislocated and broke my right shoulder and paralyzed my arm from the shoulder down. I also blew out my knee. I landed in his office the day after discovering that the shoulder surgery I had had 3 weeks prior had failed miserably. I was very frightened and didn’t know where to turn. My buddies took over and called the Steadman Clinic and though the first appointment was 3 weeks out, Dr Hackett agreed to see me the next day.
Dr Hackett has a very calm and reassuring way about him. Though he was very realistic about my condition, saying this would be no sprint, my recovery would be a marathon, he also assured me that he could help me and explained the path we would take. 3 days later he put me back together. Rehabbing a paralyzed arm is all but impossible. After a few months we discovered that the shoulder had locked up and the bone graft had failed. He went back in and released the shoulder, put more bone graft in and took biopsies of the tissue which revealed a bacteria.
Rehab was going well for 3 months when the wheels came off again. My shoulder was too damaged to heal properly. Dr. Hackett said the time had come to replace my shoulder. I would need a total reverse shoulder if I was ever going to be able to raise my arm above my shoulder because my rotator cuff muscles and tendons were shot. Since we were going back in, we needed to get rid of the bacteria before my shoulder could be replaced. Fortunately, my nerve damage was healing and at this point 1 year post accident, I had about 80% of my nerve function back. I was very ready for my new bionic shoulder!

Dr Hackett asked his friend and colleague Dr Provencher to join our team. He is also a world renowned Orthopedic Surgeon at the Steadman Clinic. First, he replaced my shoulder with an antibiotic infused prosthesis and I went on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks. 3 weeks later Dr Provencher put in my total reverse shoulder.
After 18 months, 7 surgeries, 1 reverse total shoulder and too many PT sessions to count, I have my shoulder and arm back! Thanks to them I am back on my horse and back on my skis! In short, they gave me my life back.
If you find yourself in need of a great Orthopedic Surgeon, you cannot do better than Dr Hackett & Dr. Provencher.

I dislocated my left knee. During my second surgery to repair the damage, while under the care of Dr. Hackett, Dr. Sterett and the Steadman Clinic, I got compartment syndrome on my lower "right" leg. Keep in mind they were operating on my "left" knee. What was scheduled to be a routine out patient surgery turned into a week long hospital stay with daily surgeries. My nerves were severed, there’s an incision running from my knee to my ankle on the outer right leg, another incision nearly the length of my calf on the inside of my right leg, most of the muscle along my shin was removed. In addition, my big toe is permanent contracted and the three middle toes are compromised due to all of the scare tissue. Before their acts of carelessness, I was competing in duathlons, rock climbing, mountain biking, climbing and snowboarding 14ers in Colorado, road biking, practicing yoga, lifting weights, mountaineering all throughout the Cascades and Rockies, skiing, snowboarding, hiking...pretty much living the Colorado dream. Now, none of that is possible. I will no longer be able to return to my normal active lifestyle. Nor, will my foot ever be normal.
Dr. Hackett, Dr. Sterett nor the Steadman Clinic, has taken ownership in destroying a perfectly health leg. Leaving me to deal with a lifetime of complications.

They were good, except for the people that was scheduling my appointment. They sounded unhelpful and not knowledgeable.
