HORRIBLE experience with this clinic. The bad reviews regrding their customer service are accurate. I had ZERO record of an upcoming appointment with them. They claim it was made for me by the VA. That never happened, they have no record of it either. The appointment was supposedly made 5 months ago. When I asked them where they sent the appointment confirmation and or reminders, they stated they don't do confirmations or reminders. Yet, this appointment was scheduled for 5 MONTHS LATER DUE TO THEIR NOT HAVING ANY SPACE SOONER, according to them. They have a 5 month wait and they "...don't send reminders." They had no problem sending me a bill for $25 for a missed appointment though. The bill didn't even have their phone number on it so I could call to inquire. It very much feels like they overbook deliberately, choose to NOT remind their patients, then send out bills that they want you to blindly pay. They have too many patients already, so if they lose a few along the way, no big deal.

Was concerned about all these negative reviews about Dr. Scallan and his staff prior to my appointment, however, all I can say is... his staff was kind, courteous, professional and understanding. Dr. Scallan was EXCELLENT! Very nice. Thorough and very empathetic. I don’t know why these other patients had bad reviews but I was VERY PLEASED with his office and him.

Called to make an appointment. Although I have been there several times, the wait was 6 weeks. Then receptionist laughed at me when I asked if they could get me in earlier. Was told that the wait could be up to 6 months! I told her I would look for someone else to get this done sooner. The growth on my arm was growing fast, so I was scared and couldn't wait 6 weeks to have it taken out. Thankfully, found another doctor and had it removed. Now, no one is answering the phone so that I can cancel the appointment! Says open until 4:30, but won't answer phone at 4pm. Can't leave message due to no voicemail prompt. Frustrating.

My wife just went in for an appointment and was treated with disrespect and disregard for how a customer and patient should be treated. We were told her initial visit was a consultation for Dr. Scallan to look over what my wife was needing done. When she left that appointment there was no mention of a bill or debt that needed to be paid, or else we would have paid it then. My wife then goes in this morning to a hateful and rude receptionist demanding that this bill be paid. We inquired why there was a bill because we were told the first visit was a "free" consultation. The receptionist continued to be disrespectful and when she did not have a logical explanation she said, "Well if you can't pay it ill just write it off!" She proceeded to tell my wife that I was a liar and that she never said that. This is not only unprofessional but unethical as a medical office to treat patients in such a way. Then to have the entire medical staff attempt to argue with my wife, and the doctor demanding that she leave is baffling. We will be reporting to the state medical board about this situation that has occurred because no one should ever be treated this way.

I had a melonoma removed many years ago in another state so need a follow up check up every year. After a very poor experience at the dermatologist at Riverstone in Blue Ridge I asked my primary physician to recommend someone else. It was a bit of a drive but thankfully Android Auto took us directly to their office. I was far more impressed with Dr Perry Scanlan's office and professionalism. I will return every year to keep me safe.
