I initially went here to meet with a new PCP, Jessica Van Rye APRN. I was hopeful that in a sea of corporate healthcare facilities, this private practice would be a welcomed change. First appointment, pretty good overall. The APRN had something going on that caused incredibly slurred speech, which prevented her from speaking clearly and from speaking much in general, and also made it nearly physically impossible for her to use the computer to document and prescribe. I was a little surprised because I wasnt informed that there would be any communication issues. Of course I wasn't going to let that deter me, and figured it was ok because there was a medical assistant in there who did the talking for her. After that first appointment however, it became the worst experience with a doctors office I've ever had.

Nobody answers the phone, ever. Nobody returns calls when you leave a message, ever. Appointments are canceled with no notice at all, like there was never even an appointment. I was left completely on my own to go between insurance, some weird private pharmacy, prior auth requests, etc. and when I needed them to do even a fraction of their part, no one would even respond to a phone call or follow through with what the pharmacy was requesting via fax. I was finally able to make a follow-up appointment, after weeks of unreturned phone calls, by going into the office in person to request an appointment!! When the appointment finally happened, none of the medical assistants could be bothered to help the APRN communicate this time around. While they sat around chatting, I was left to have to decipher what was being said and couldn't understand a word. It was clearly as difficult for her to work like that as it was for me to try to figure out what was going on. I left having no idea what had just happened.

Having medical care shouldn't be hard. It's not supposed to be like that. The whole thing seemed kind of scammy or something. Throughout the whole bad experience I was polite and level headed, never got upset or raised my voice, and just tried to make it work and it got me nowhere. I quickly realized it had been wasted time, unfortunately, and found myself a new primary care provider at Community Health in New London. In contrast, she's absolutely amazing and everything is handled so efficiently and professionally, as it should be. If you're considering FNP Medical Services, do yourself a favor and don't go any further than these bad reviews. I read them prior to going and ignored them, and that was definitely a mistake.

Have serious spinal issues and chronic pain, was referred to try them. Some staff are very nice but dealing with the prescriber was a nightmare. Med changes that didn't work, couldn't get calls back and calling repeatedly. Meds not called in on time, pharmacy couldn't get return calls when meds were called in incorrectly. Other Doctors couldn't get return calls from them and if you voice your issues, they drop you and then respond on here that the bad reviews are from people that were never patients there. Unfortunately they don't treat you with respect. They will also drop you and leave you with no meds if you raise any concerns regarding your care, which is irresponsible as you are going to be very sick and in the Emergency Room. Go elsewhere for professional pain management who actually care about their patients. Do Not Recommend. Very Disrespectful And Lack Of Compassion. Not Sure How They Stay In Business. Read Reviews Before Seeking Treatment. Wish I had read these.

The staff has been wonderful. I had been Dr Kurey's patient for about 3 years before I moved. She is kind, understanding and really listens and cares. I highly recommend this office for pain management. I'm truly going to miss them all.

This office is very disorganized; makes appointments and when you call to confirm - you have no appointment. Jessica Van Rye abruptly retired - they called me to move my appointment to Kim - when you show up - no appointment. Promised to refill prescriptions until you get a new primary - but you have to call over and over to get anything filled, said you need to see Dr Kim but again - appointment made but proof doesn't exist when you call. No one needs to work this hard to see a doctor. Avoid this practice.

I am disabled and on Medicare and a fixed income. They required me to have a credit card on file for no show appointments. I don’t see how this is fair. I am not a pain management client, I have never no showed to an appointment It’s not professional to refuse to see patients because of no card on file when there is valid insurance. I’m not there for a specialist I’m just there for primary care. Unfortunately I’ll be going somewhere else. Side note Tiffany is extremely helpful and Jessica is a great clinician.

Extremely unprofessional. Would leave on vacation and not fill any prescriptions. Called patients addicts. Would test every time even though it was supposed to be random. Cut prescriptions without patients permission. Told patients to try illegal street "medicine" to help pain because she would not prescribe more milligrams. Some staff was nice but most were rude and would rush appointments. Wouldn't answer questions. Wouldn't believe the pain level of any patients and accused patients of lying. Chooses favorite patients and will push appointments back to take patients she prefers before others. Left patients for weeks without refilling pain management medication on time causing a patient of hers to go into a coma in the ICU for 3 days. Would not recommend her or her staff. Please do not go here or look for treatment from her or this establishment.
This is an edit to this post as I have read her response: this was the most straightforward review i could have typed. I am the caretaker of one of your patients. I respect that you have a business to run and money to make but the way you treated them was wrong and I was witness to this on many occasions, at many appointments. They have been in true pain. 15 years of true pain. Slipped disc's, seizures, epilepsy, a failed surgery that left them disabled from a young age. I hope you see this edit and I hope you truly treat your patients with respect and kindness because they are people in true pain seeking you for help. I wish this exchange had been kinder instead of making me seem as though I was drug seeking. Unfortunately, my review stands.

Refused to see my husband because he does not have a medical Marijuana card and get didn't get one. We cannot afford the $100 card. How is this legal? Said he wouldn't be seen. How is he supposed to wean himself off of this opioid? Magic, I guess. Unprofessional is an understatement.
