Can’t recommend Dr Whitfield enough. His bedside manner was amazing. I felt he really cared about my journey back to a new normal. He listened, was empathetic and helped me navigate activities as I recovered from 2 hip replacements he performed over 3 years. He responded to messages quickly and provided options on what activities I could do without delaying recovery. He listened when I said something didn’t feel right and quickly helped to diagnose and fix the issue. Truly listened to me. I am fully back in the gym and horseback riding post op - quality of life regained. Thank you Dr Whitfield!

I’m so grateful that Dr Whitfield was my doctor to initially work on my hip in 2021. He’s very thorough and knowledgeable and explains every step, process, and tells you any challenges that you may or may not have. He did my total hip replacement in November 2024 and the process from the initial consultation to the follow ups have still stayed phenomenal. Dr Whitfield is a true and trustworthy physician and a tremendous asset to the Emory Orthopedic community!!!! I highly recommend him!!

Dr. Whitfield is awesome. Straightforward, kind, good bedside manner. He listens AND hears his patients. His team is very responsive to any post surgery questions. (I had a major hip repair, not replacement). I would recommend him 100% of the time. Thanks Dr. Whitfield for a great "newish" hip.

In addition to Dr. Whitfield being an excellent surgeon, his entire staff is more than competent, excellent communicators and while it sounds like a cliche', they are extremely professional. Dr. Whitfield's consultative methods and understanding of his patient's concerns are reflected in every interaction he has with his patients. I have been with Dr Whitfield for 7 years... I trust him with every anchor in my hip. The best as far as care and bedside you will find. He is about solving the pain. Very genuine Dr with the utmost knowledge of how the hip works and functions. If he can't solve it, he will guide you to the next best doctor.

After playing college lacrosse I had a torn labrum and loosened hip capsule, Dr. Whitfield came highly referenced! After having surgery I’m finally living without pain and can do everything I want to do again such as workout, put my socks and shoes on, and sit for longer than an hour at a time! A labrum tear is pretty common in lacrosse, however out of my teammates I am the only one who has not needed a second surgery due to retearing (I’m the only one who tracked from SC to ATL for surgery with a great surgeon!). He cares about his clients and getting this surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
