Dr. Canavarros just dumped all of his home care patients.

His office staff created story after story regarding their lack of coverage for their in-home-care patients. Our family understood that due to recent staffing problems that there would be a wait until the PA or Nurse came to check up on my mother.

And wait we did. Phone call after phone call was made, only to find out after many weeks, being told various stories and fibs from his staff, just stringing us along, that he is dropping his home care practice.

He is not even allowing his home care patients to schedule an appointment at his office on an emergency basis. We tried to do it today and we were told that they scheduling no appointments at all for patients! What?!? and no notice of this

No written or official notice was EVER given. We only found out today verbally when my mother tried to make an appointment to get to see him in person, that we have 30 days to find a replacement home care doctor - with no continued support or care. All they will do is call in any prescriptions that are expiring within the next 30 days. No other medical support will be given at all. If there's a need for a doctor, I guess our only option is to visit the emergency room or call an ambulance - Abominable!!!

Doctors who leave their patients transfer them appropriately to other providers that are knowledgeable and informed that the practice is discontinuing their patients, so they can on-board the patients in an orderly manner.

All your staff did was provide a phone# to a provider who has no clue to what is going on, and who was not accepting any home care patients!!!

Read his reviews on other sites. You can see it coming. His lack of care and disappearance from his patients in the past speaks volumes of the actions that happened today.

Unprofessional! Irresponsible! SHAME ON YOU! Your practice is your responsibility and your obligation to your patients should be a concern of yours.

Apparently you have allowed your practice to sink into utter disarray and collapse.

Whatever the situation is, at least have the protocol in place to notify your patients appropriately. That's what professionals do.

The patient is a home bound Senior. He, Dr, Canavarros, advertises home visits but you never see him, you see a Physicians assistant, if your lucky, or a Nurse Practioner. When you have an urgent matter they never return phone calls or get back to you about help. Dr. Canavarros signed the patient up and it has been more than a year and we never saw him or a Doctor again. The office staff is polite and likeable but unable to help in urgent matters and never return phone calls. Very frustrating and full of incompetence. Really pathetic and they should be held to better standards or shut down.
