I have had 3 neck surgerys with Dr. Kessler and I like his skills foremost but I like his bedside manner as well and just tells you not what you want to hear but what is truth.

Sciatica kept me from doing much of anything. After Dr. Kessler and Dr. Love’s laminectomy with fusion surgery, I can now dress myself (even tie my shoes), take care of my hygiene needs, prepare food, drive, and take overall care of myself. He doesn’t support my running, but that’s on me.

Utterly horrible doctor, uncaring. I should have left this review years ago, but I left his office feeling so defeated I never wanted anything to do with this man again. I was 25 years old and went to him to get formally diagnosed with scoliosis and to learn what I could do about it. I was given exercises and to come back for a repeat visit for a follow-up. When I returned I told him that the exercises hurt me, and his response was invalidating and infuriating; "Well if they hurt you then don't do them obviously". He hadn't given me that directive when he had given them to me on the prior visit. Then he absently decided I needed an mri to determine the degree of my curvature. Mind you, very little discussion took place, while a lot of assumptions were made on his part. The MRI lady was an absolute nightmare to deal with until she saw my results, and then she became very understanding and apologized for being rude saying; "I thought you were just another kid look for disability, but I see you have a genuine problem". On my next visit with this absolute joke of a doctor, he determined the degree of my curvature, said it would degenerate at one degree a year, and that at that time I wasn't eligible for surgery and acted as if our time was done. I asked him simply "how can I better manage the pain", to which he responded, and I QUOTE "I think you can handle it" while handing me the EXACT same exercises he had told me NOT to do on my previous visit. Today, many years later, I have discovered (by claiming a medical history report) that this absolute JOKE decided I didn't have radiating pains (he didn't ask) or have issue using the restroom (he didn't ask and I didn't know it could correlate so I didn't freaking bring it up voluntarily) and all sorts of other assumptions the man absolutely NEVER ASKED ME! He ASSUMED that I was there seeking disability, in retrospect it is obvious because of how dismissive he was of me, when IN REALITY, I was there trying to find a way to AVOID IT in my future. I wish with everything in me I were the man I am today and not the scared little boy I was still then, and I HOPE you read this, because YOU are despicable and DO NOT deserve your title. I have suffered GREATLY because of your dismissiveness and I will NEVER forgive you for it.

Dr Kessler operated in my boyfriend, and I have been through this surgery with two other people. My boyfriends recovery was just days and he never had to use pain meds. Dr Kessler did a fantastic job fusing two discs and keeping the scar down to almost invisible. HIGHLY recommend.

Dr. Kessler performed surgery on my back last October and did an outstanding job. He is very personable and knowledgeable, and he made sure that I fully understood the entire process start to finish. He treats you w/ the same care post surgery that he does prior to the procedure (can't say that about other surgeons that I have had in the past). I would certainly recommend him and will definitely return in the future should I need additional treatment.

Dr. Kessler operates in a poor and unprofessional manor. He makes you feel less than welcome and important to his day. Took me 45 minutes waiting to see him, he took 3 minutes with me and was done. Would not recommend him to anyone.

I have had a very good experience with Georgia Bone and Joint! I was in a great deal of pain when I first went there. Dr Kessler is a great doctor! He listens to you and has helped me get back to moving again. Along with the help of physical therapist Jennifer Hunt! She's awesome 👍 Great experience!

I had the privilege of working with Dr Kessler after a very serious car accident. I had to have spinal fusion surgery and I would not have trusted this procedure to anyone but Dr Kessler. He was genuine, thorough, honest, and most importantly skilled. He always walked me through the next steps and options and allowed me to be part of the medical plan. I cannot say enough about Dr Kessler and this practice. My husband, my Dad and daughter have all been helped and healed by Dr Kessler and others at Georgia Bone and Joint. For any ortho care, there is simply not a better group to be in your corner.
