PLEASE do yourself a favor and listen to the bad reviews. I was seen in the ER because I had been throwing up for 12 hours and couldn’t even drink water, and had severe stomach pain as well. For starters the building looks like it’s falling apart and was VERY dirty for a hospital on the inside. I did get taken back to a room right away which was nice but then waited 45 minutes for someone to come in the room. I was then told they couldn’t do anything for me until I gave a urine sample. This was an issue because, like I said, I couldn’t even drink water so it took me almost 3 hours to finally be able to pee. During this 3 hours I was given nothing for the pain and ignored. The nurse told me to just come get one of them when I decided I could give a sample. 3 hours I sat there dry heaving in the worst pain of my life. I eventually limped my way to the nurses station, and they seemed very annoyed that I interrupted them from sitting there on their phones giggling. Finally they ran my tests and I was ordered some medication and IV fluids. Once my bag of fluids ran out I was feeling a little better, but I was still in extreme pain and dry heaving. I was then informed that I was going to be discharged. I practically begged them to let me stay longer because I couldn’t even walk and I still couldn’t eat or drink anything, but I was told they did all they could do for me and someone else needed my room. I had to practically be carried to the car because I couldn’t even walk. I tried to go home but I was hurting so badly I ended right back up in a different ER that thankfully actually took care of me and solved my problem. The only good thing about this place was one super sweet nurse, I can’t remember her name but she had tattoos and brown hair. Other than that seriously don’t waste your time.

I was in Rising Fawn for a weekend fishing trip at the lake house. Last night, I fell and twisted my leg.
We didn't know where to go. So we chose CHI Memorial.
Friendly staff. The Nurses were awesome. Dr K Sweat is amazing! Thank you CHI Memorial ER!

Normally I avoid Fort O Hospital due to incompetence but my minor emergency was simple enough and it was 3 am. No one was there so I stopped and I am thankful I did.
Dr Clark in the ER did an excellent job listening to me and taking into consideration what I wanted the outcome and treatment to be and he did exactly as I asked of him. He was extremely professional and supportive. His bedside manner was better than any doctor I’ve had ever in 41 years. I am very thankful for Dr Clark!

I went to the E.R. after being unable to rid a fever over 103 for 5 days. The visit was pleasant enough. I was seen and diagnosed with pneumonia and provided a treatment plan. The staff was pleasant and timely. I thought the visit was great. My qualm is that I was told by the doctor that I’d be getting prescribed two antibiotics, an inhaler, and a yeast infection medication for after the double antibiotics. This is all documented in the visit summary in mychart online. Unfortunately, only the antibiotics prescriptions were actually written, and I didn’t notice until after going to the pharmacy. I called the hospital about the prescriptions, and am being told they have no documentation showing the conversation about the other prescriptions anywhere. I read mychart to them verbatim. Still, they claim they can’t find anything about it and I’ll have to be seen again to get an inhaler prescribed if I need it. It’s hard to believe I’m able to access documentation of an appointment that the hospital staff can’t access and that I’d have to rack up a whole new hospital bill to get a portion of what was supposed to be part of my already prescribed treatment plan.

My husband was admitted at the ER for care and the staff would not let me go back with my two young children because it’s "policy" not to let children under 10 back there. The staff was rude and unsympathetic and I didn’t know how my husband was doing until he was able to communicate via phone call/text. CHANGE YOUR POLICY!! Children have a place in our world and you have no right to discriminate against children who want to see their parents in the hospital. The US medical system is so broken, I would recommend going to another hospital that has hopefully better "policies" if you have young children.

This hospital has never been top of the line but with it being CHI we had higher hope this go around. We haven't been seen by this hospital in about 7 years and after yesterday's visit we will not be returning. My son was brought in for a psychiatric evaluation and we were completely mishandled. The first thing the main nurse in the ER said to me was " you are not the legal guardian of your child at the moment. The legal guardianship of this child belongs to the Dr." Excuse me?!? That is not the first sentence that should come out of a nurses mouth in a highly stressful situation. They then proceeded to be very rude and dismissive through the rest of the visit because that statement visibly angered me and my husband. Nurse Lynn in the ER needs to learn how to calm her patients and their families. On top of the absolute careless behavior from Lynn and her staff, the psychiatrist we waited 3 hours on was told how upset we were but not what caused us to be upset so of course she made us out to be lunatics to this man which is also very unprofessional. He asked what our issues was with the staff and I explained the same thing I just typed in this post. We were mishandled in every way. I repeatedly watched them through our door laugh and make fun of 2 other patients. These 2 women were older and clearly had some mental issues going on. Unacceptable. Completely Unacceptable. This complaint will continue because no one deserves to be treated the way we were. Had we of gone downtown this never would have happened. We will not make that mistake again.

You want a doctor that isn't brainwashed? If so, do not go to this clinic! Wife's first time visit was with Hunley. Regular kind of check up. She, Hunley, quarantined her for meningitis because of simultaneous neck and cold symptoms. Thank God the ER doc she forced my wife to see, during our workday, was competent. Took one look at her and knew it wasn't meningitis. Guaranteed i believe were the words the ER doc used. Which we knew. She was ready to subject her to a spinal tap because of simultaneous neck and cold symptoms. I am willing to bet this clinic was a big promoter of multiple vaccinations. Don't go here!!

Listen to the bad reviews. It could save you money and from being misdiagnosed as I was. I was under the “care” of Carlos Z, PA with excruciating abdominal pain and he made every effort to undermine my symptoms, interrupt while speaking and leave the room while I was asking a question (understandable if it was an emergency- but it wasn’t). I have never witnessed such poor bedside etiquette. This individual would not show any respect towards me whatsoever and greatly lacks empathy. I had to request additional staff to access me. It was ABSOLUTELY necessary. I was just another body to talk to for 2 minutes, order pain meds, then discharge without any questions being truly answered. Please consider a career change and let someone who puts their knowledge and time to properly treat the underlying condition instead of the “low hanging fruit” symptoms. Other staff were phenomenal and respectful in every way. However, I should have listened to patients saying that this place is only good for giving you pain meds and shipping you off to be someone else’s problem. This place is an absolute waste of money and resources, don’t come here, go ANYWHERE else.
