What a great surgeon with a terrific staff. I went in on crutches with severe knee pain. He gave me cortisone shots in each knee and scheduled me for knee replacement surgery later this year. 2 hours later I was shopping at Trader Joe’s with no crutches
Staff person Liz Riojas was fabulous 👏👏
They are to be commended for providing higher chairs for people with knee and hip problems. Other doctor’s offices should take not of that. Most offices have chairs like you would find at a preschool 😞😞

Had my right hip joint replaced on April 6th and couldn’t be happier. I was amazed that it was an out patient surgery. I went home the day of surgery and was able to walk upstairs without any problem. Pain was pretty minimal. A great job and Chris at core PT was also excellent. I am contacting the office today to schedule a work up for my left hip.

Warning ! Dr Hajnik should never have given my 88 year old mother a knee replacement, so now 4 surgeries later and a hospital aquired infection with a lifetime of antibiotics which caused kidney failure and then she had emergency dialysis and got another serious infection called c diff. Her life will be cut short from his possible mis handling of her case and she doesn’t want anymore “ treatment “ now from the Hell she’s been put through! He may have implanted her with an infected knee joint or used unclean equipment, we don’t know but you may want to check his other reviews as my mom has been through living nightmare now!

Never been happy with results of my knee replacement. Hurts more than before. Took over 6 months for swelling to go down. His comment "Don't know why you are still in pain. I do good work" This was five years ago now I am thinking of have it re done. A Revision. But not by him. Thanks a lot Dr. Hajnik

Dr. Hajnik is a life changer. For over two years I took 3-4 Advil a day and had to constantly ice to deal with the swelling and pain in my knee. My other Orthopedic Surgeon in Encinitas told me it was just early arthritis at the age of 40 and I just needed to strengthen my core to alleviate the pain. I believed him because of the great reviews he had on Yelp. I tried all of the PT he recommended and all the shots he administered: the rooster comb injections, the steroid shots, the PRP injections...nothing worked.

After visiting Lyons Accupuncture in Carlsbad, CA who I highly recommend, the owner recommended Dr. Hajnik who performed Knee Replacement Surgery on her father.

Instead of a normal MRI administered by most Doctors, his team at CORE in Encinitas performed a "Fat Surpressed MRI." It was able to detect bone marrow lesions scattered throughout my knee bone, i.e. stress fractures in my bone.

He told me that he thought these were the main contributors of my pain but that I did have significant knee arthritis for my age. After trying conservative treatment options before considering this procedure (rest, ice, brace) I quickly realized that was not doing the trick.

The procedure he performed was called Subchondroplasty where he fills in those bone fractures with a synthetic bone marrow.

He performed the procedure over a year and a half ago and I am still pain free and I haven’t had any swelling. Sure, there is arthritis. But I can play weekend baseball, play with my kids and ski with the family. I will give Dr. Hajnik one of those cheesy pictures of me playing ball or doing something active with my family because he changed my life!

When considering the right orthopedic surgeon for your knee pain there is no one else I would trust or recommend than Dr. Hajnik. Thanks again Dr. Hajnik!

My first visit with Dr Hajnik was mediocre at best. I felt like I was wasting his time. He seemed much nicer in his video than in person. I am hoping my 2nd visit goes smoother.

TKR July 2018 and 5 weeks since I feel like a new person- normal. No more fear in stairs, it's just automatic. Even the scar looks amazing.
