Wasn’t a pleasant experience. Of course, nobody enjoys the actual dentistry part of seeing a dentist, but that’s not what I’m talking about. This place is over the top on upsales. You go in for a simple procedure, and they try to scare you into doing multi-thousands of work. Plus they charge a $250 “new patient fee” and tell you that will be a reoccurring fee every time unless you swear fealty to their practice. Won’t be returning.

I had a dental emergency on the weekend. Dr Craig Sater and his staff came to the office and got me out of pain! I appreciate the care and empathy to the doctor and staff! This office is great. I am so happy to be a long term patient here.

Not sure about the other dentists. But dr Sater needs to retire. He's mean and grouchy and rough. If u have dental anxiety DO NOT go there. Three times he ripped the corners of my mouth when he first when in to look at my teeth. The staff are nice. But even they know... maybe he's right for some people. But if u need gentle and calm. He's not the guy. I'll be fair, I'm one of those people that are TERRIFIED of anything dental. I put things off too long. Then it gets worse etc... if you have issues at all with dental stuff, don't go there.

This office is stellar! They are so considerate with every detail and are stellar hosts for your visit offering toothpaste and toothbrushes in the bathroom to use if you want and a drink cooler in the lobby if you need, although I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY WAIT TIME YET!

THE STAFF IS STELLAR AND THE DOCTOR IS TALENTED!

9.3.24 - Dr. Sater is always great.... never a question. Today, the hygienist Jamie was on duty for cleanings. AWESOME! In the three years i've been going to Dr. Sater, this is the BEST experience with a hygienst I've had! She was knowledgeable, gentle, personable and pleasant. I really hope she stays and i look forward to seeing her in the office for my next appointment!

This office was super professional and helpful to me especially with managing my PTSD- I am extremely fearful of dentist but everyone here took their time, communicated, and allowed me breaks when I needed it. I’ve never been more comfortable in a dentist office and I am so happy to have them as part of my healthcare team. Johnathan especially was super communicative and really went the extra mile to make sure I was getting what I needed, and answered the phone for every extensive questions both me and my family had about my health care plan. They provided me with options for sedation for my ptsd and have been extremely educational and supportive of my needs. I am super happy I am at this office and I would recommend it.

Dr Craig is amazing, very clean and organized. The staff was amazing, and very tentative to my needs. I won’t go anywhere else for dental work!

They get 1 star and that was a gift! Run don’t walk to another dental office, any dental office but this one!
I am a caregiver for my Intellectually disabled brother and we have been going here for many years, we trusted this dentist. I’ve paid them thousands (cash-no insurance). Early this year I went in for an exam, cleaning and x-rays, excited to use my new insurance. Office manager Nicole checked my insurance and said it was covered. I would not have had all the extensive unnecessary x-rays otherwise and had her double check to be sure. Several months later I received 1 statement (the only one) that said I owed $134 that wasn’t covered. Well, I researched further, and I guess insurance wasn’t going to cover all the extra x-rays. Bummer!
We return to that office every few months, so I wasn’t worried about the bill and figured I’d deal with it next time. I never heard anything else from them until I called to schedule an appt in May. I admit, I was remiss and should have called and paid the now overdue bill. Several weeks ago, I explained to the current office manager Jonathon that I found a dentist that has experience with those with disabilities and was granted a scholarship to cover his annual dental expenses. I told him I would pay the bill when we next spoke the following week. I got busy and forgot to call (my bad) Last week I missed 2 calls (no message left) from Jonathon and on Thursday I called him and left a message. I tried again yesterday (twice) and supposedly missed him both times.
Today I received a notice for $234 from a collection agency. I went to the office to pay the bill and to see why Jonathon was avoiding me and was told by a hostile Jonathon that “it is out of his hands” and I must pay the collection agency. I was there with cash, and he wouldn’t take it! Needless to say, I was not happy and probably sounded so. He took no responsibility for the miscommunication from the original appt and blamed it on the former staff member. He argued with me and insisted that he received no message from me last week, he even told me they had sent several statements over the last few months (I never received them) and could have cared less about my issues. When I asked about the extra “fee” that the collection agency wanted he said that is a collection fee and he has no control over that. He was adamant and it was apparent that since I was no longer a patient he saw no reason to extend any courtesy or common decency. I called the collection agency right then and there and they told me the $100 “fee” was from the dentist office that it had been added before turning it over to them. Obviously, Jonathon wasn’t being truthful, additionally he told me Dr. Sater wasn’t available to discuss this with. Then he came back and said he just discussed it with Dr. Sater so apparently Dr was there. So many untruths here!
To make matter worse, my brother’s new Dentist and Hygienist and explained to me from the look of the x-rays and exam showing excessive tarter/plaque below the gum line, that there is no way he had thorough descaling and planing done last year at Port St. John Dental care, but he did! As I paid for it and several cleanings since then. This office seems to be all about the money, and much less about consistent and thorough dental care. I would not recommend them at all.
