Litchfield Hills Eye got me in when other eye docs were 2-3 weeks out. Dr Howard was my doctor and he was very thorough, explained my issues completely and was personable. Awesome doctor!!

This Dr. seems very thorough but I really wish his staff would get it together. I recently took my mom for an appointment....scheduled for 2:00. We arrived at 1:50, checked in, and were assigned a room about 2:15. After waiting another 45 minutes I went out to the hall to find someone. I was roughly asked by the front desk person, "Can I help you" - more like Why are you in my hallway? I asked her if she could tell me how late the doctor was running as we had another appointment and would like to let them know how late we would be. She stated that the Dr. was not running late - he had left the building for the day. !!! He must have been in the parking lot because a few minutes later he came in and rudely let us know that we were on his schedule for the day before and that he was now missing an event in order to see her!! How was that our problem? We had an appointment and were checked in. Once he settled down he did seem very thorough and when he relaxed his demeanor he was good at explaining everything. When we were done he said we could put the file on the counter and go out as she did not need another appointment yet. The front desk person stopped us at the counter and asked us to wait while she told the person on the phone about all of her troubles. When I explained to Mom that we were waiting because she told us to even though we didn't need an appointment the desk staff very rudely and loudly said, "Well, if you're not coming back go ahead then." without putting the person on the phone on hold. It was all very rude and unprofessional.

I have recently developed bad eye pain and blurry vision, I also lost my job to covid and thus have no insurance. I put off going to the Dr in hopes it would resolve on its own. It had been 12 days today of pain and blurr so I gave up and called Dr Howard's office. I sorta was expected to be turned away, the kind nurse on the phone got very concerned about my condition when I described it. She squeezed me in instantly and gave me a time just 45 minutes after I called. When I came there everyone were kind, gentle and caring. They did multiple tests, and I did get a diagnosis, and in the end they did not charge me what they were supposed to, pricing was extremely reasonable period and I would happily have paid more. I know who will get all my business in the future. Sadly enough I might have MS and need more, and he said he will call me, and I know he is looking for someone who is willing to work with me with no insurance for the MRI I so badly need now to see what is going on further. Talk about going above and beyond. I am so grateful to find this office, and it was just fluke. I was in such pain I just called the one that was open. These people are in medical care for the right reasons, and I will never forget this. Thank you again.
