I would give 0 stars but I can't. I came to Dr. Mcelveen when I was 12 years old with a pilonidal cyst I am 29 now. He told me that it would be a simple procedure and I would have a minimal scar. Come to the day of the surgery at Medicus, everything went good and then they give us the after care instructions... they told me to sit in a sits bath when I had DISSOLVABLE stitches. We followed the instructions and every one of the stitches dissolved leaving me with a very large open wound in a very problematic area. I will admit that wasn't Dr. Mcelveens fault, but what was his fault was Instead of referring me to a wound care specialist he decided to try and cauterize it multiple times seeing that it wasn't working. At first his office wasn't charging for these after care visits and then they started charging for them. I got tired of going and paying for a mistake that wasnt m I ne or my parents fault and being put through the painful cauterizations so I stopped going and let it heal up on its own since he wouldn't refer me to a wound care specialist when he saw that the cauterizations weren't working. From the time I had the surgery to the time it fully healed it took 3 years. Still to this day it is sensitive in certain areas and I can't feel anything in other areas of my scar. Also I ended up with a bad scar that made me self conscious for years. I'm not saying that it's all his fault, but when he realized he couldn't fix it he should have referred me to someone who could!

He is very competent and his staff is the greatest! They smile and greet me warmly every time I come in the room ! I haven't seen any others Dr.'s in this group, but feel that he is the best in the group and does actually care about his patients .
