It’s been over ONE YEAR rehabbing my mother, hands on, full-time back from the edge of death after just a couple of months in this facility. It is most likely the combination of incorrect prescriptions, poor oversight oversight of their and and poor staff. Less than 3 months after she walked herself fully functional into the facility they requested to call hospice. I came to take her for a 2nd opinion. She was catatonic, critically dehydrated with UTIs that took months to resolve, pressure sores on her heels and feet three sizes larger than normal. This woman was walking over 5 miles a day months earlier. She had never been off her feet. The nurses who assisted me in putting her in the car, called her “shuffles” instead of her name, Referencing the increased difficulty she had walking. This is a clear violation of patient rights to be treated with dignity. She was clearly Confused at who shuffles was faintly asking “who”and did not know how to respond with the tiny awareness she still had. Her physician examined her for less than five minutes before sending us to an ER in hillsborough with a catatonia diagnosis. Mother had lost the ability to feed herself, stand, speak, dress, wash herself or go to the bathroom unassisted. She was a barely conscious vegetable. After 6+ months in two hospitals, one rehab, over 30 ECT treatments, and more short hospital visits than I care to count, she is mostly incontinent, but can walk with a cane, feed herself, hold meandering, mostly pointless conversations, step into a shower with help and also dress with help. We had to start from her being unable to sit up. I don’t know what this facility did to this incredibly sweet dementia patient but I do know that all she requires after this astronomical amount of rehab is 2 mg of antipsychotic and a supplement for gut health daily. it certainly accelerated her condition by an untold magnitude. With barely any medication she is happy engaged and pleasant. The facility has sent us to collections for failure to pay for her last month. The relevant authorities did an investigation and the results of that should be public record. I advise anyone looking at this facility to look into their history. It is possible someone who has a great deal of street smarts and the ability to speak and advocate for themselves, could survive here Now that my mother is no longer in eminent risk of death, I will be in touch with the results on the investigation to reach an end to our association with the facility.

Please do not leave a loved one here! Our family received a call that our loved one was about to pass away. The family arrived and was not allowed in to say goodbye. Lashieka the nurse in charge of her care told us she would not discuss the matter since she was already home from work. She told us to contact them on Monday, this was the Thursday before a holiday. Our loved one would not live to see Monday. Be sure if you have a loved one staying here that they know they need to pass away during working hours.

My mom Orrilla was at home at the manor. She enjoyed the activity room with Phylis and girls. I have her paintings hanging in the front room. She seemed to be t a party in rehab. A lot of laughter going on. Her room was comfortable. We always could come and go whenever we went shopping, manicures, meetings or Mcdonald's for icecream. She loved icecream. She was always happy to get back to the girls. The staff was so helpful when I had concerns. They had so much patience in explaining anything I didn't understand. I know I would be holding them up in their chores but they didn't seem to mind. I know I couldn't have found a better place. Ill miss everyone but look forward to the Walk this month. Thank you all so much
