Dr. Ricalde and her team have been absolutely wonderful, caring, attentive, warm, and welcoming. I immediately felt comfortable (and this surgery is something that has given me extreme anxiety all my life so for me to actually feel comfortable at an appointment is a huge deal) when I first walked into the office and when she walked into the room for my consultation. She took her time with me and has great bedside manner. She answered all of my questions and put me at ease.
My surgery went well and her team has been there every step of the way anytime I’ve needed them or had any questions.
Thank you for everything so far and I look forward to continuing to heal from my surgery!

I was referred to FCI for oral surgery for an extraction with a complex tooth (sideways embedded in bone). Massive thanks to the assisting providers (of course I forget their names), Veronica, and Drs. Hanna & Ricalde.

I had never had an extraction before and the experience was far better than I expected, and I am glad for having it done. They are professionals, it's hard for me to realistically guess at how it could have gone any better, and as my experience was entirely positive I feel nothing but gratitude for what seems like the top quality care of oral surgeons and staff who are clearly experts.

I was extremely nervous for my wisdom tooth extraction because of a previous bad experience with another surgeon, but Dr Palermo and her team were absolutely wonderful and the whole experience was a breeze. Even though I only had laughing gas during the surgery I was very relaxed, and the recovery was quick and relatively pain free. The office called to check on me the evening after and made it clear I could text the doctor any time during the weekend if anything went wrong. Thank you sooo much for everything!

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS, I WOULD HAVE.

I initially visited Dr. Pat Ricaldi for a jaw surgery evaluation. Although my issue isn't directly with her, she lacked confidence and couldn't answer my questions thoroughly.

The real problems began when she referred me to her partner, Dr. Hanna, for the removal of my remaining two wisdom teeth, a necessary step before my jaw surgery. I had the extractions done on June 20, 2024, and this was my first encounter with Dr. Hanna. Her bedside manner was HORRIBLE—she seemed miserable in her job and wasn't reassuring about my concerns.

After the procedure, I was fine for about a week, but then the pain became excruciating (and I have a high pain tolerance). I went in for an early post-op appointment where Dr. Hanna examined me and repacked the site while I sat there, shaking and bawling from the pain. To add insult to injury, right before Dr. Hanna came in, the medical assistant asked if I had been taking my medication. I was shocked and asked, “WHAT MEDICATION?!”—I had been given none. The assistant's jaw dropped when she realized I hadn't been prescribed any pain meds, even though this is the typical protocol. I have no drug allergies, no history of drug abuse, and with my medical background, I know about the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. So why was I not prescribed anything to manage my severe pain? Even my dentist was floored when I told her.

Despite being in unbearable pain, I was sent home with no resolution. Days later, I developed a liver clot at the extraction site the size of a golf ball. I called the after-hours line and spoke with another partner at the practice who was incredibly kind and helpful, even while setting up for a procedure at the hospital. She advised me to come in first thing Monday morning, but thankfully, the clot healed on its own.

At my final follow-up with Dr. Hanna, she said everything "looked good," despite my constant headaches, which she dismissed as unrelated to the extraction. I strongly disagree, as the headaches started after the extractions and radiated from my jaw to my temple. I was told to follow up with my PCP—fine.

Fast forward two months, and I am still experiencing mild to moderate pain and swelling. I've called the office multiple times, left several messages, and have yet to hear back. The only time they ever called me back was when it involved taking my money.

With over 12 years of healthcare experience, I have never witnessed such extreme patient NEGLECT.

And this obviously goes without being said, I WILL NOT BE HAVING MY JAW SURGERY WITH THIS OFFICE.

When I moved to Florida 18 months ago, it was very difficult to find another surgeon who would do orthognatic surgery (double jaw surgery) because I was quoted from other surgeons saying "there was no money in it." I called 5 other offices, and none were available to perform the surgery. I tried another office, but I didn't like their prices. While I was continuing my treatment with All Smiles Orthodontics, they recommended me Dr. Pat Ricalde from Florida Craniofacial Institute and the rest was history.

The Florida Craniofacial Institute was the best decision I've ever made. Dr. Pat Ricalde was patient, understanding, and have a passion for her job to help and care for others. Long story short, she treated my open bite, underbite, and crossbite combined with DJS. Since then, I've never been happier! For everyone who is going through the same struggles, I strongly recommend her. Her board certification meets and exceed the standards for orthognatic surgery and many other surgeries she have performed throughout her career.

Thank you Dr. Pat Ricalde and the staffs from Florida Craniofacial Institute. Thank you for making me smile again.
