My first visit was great. Dr. Gaskin was attentive to my mental health issues, traumas and life stressors. Having just moved here from out of state, I needed a physician that would prescribe all of my medications. When I made my 1st appt, the receptionist asked me over the phone what medications I was on. She was telling the Dr. as I was telling her. Dr. Gaskin said he was okay with my medications & said that he would prescribe all of them. At the first visit he prescribed my Suboxone for one month. ( which was great because a lot of Physicians will only prescribe two weeks at a time) I didn't need my other meds, as I was still doing telemed with my previous doctor in North Carolina. He said he would start prescribing them at my next appointment. At my second appointment, it was like I had met with a totally different doctor.. He was unkind, rude, wasn't understanding and left me feeling like a strung out addict who was telling him a bunch of lies. He wouldn't prescribe my other meds, which are mental health medications & I was completely out. He told me that he never said that he would prescribe my other meds. I tried to remind him of the initial phone conversation and my hour long first appointment. He said he deals with drug addicts all day long and hears nothing but lies and excuses. I've been on Suboxone for 16 years and another med I desperately need for 20 years. He didn't care. My track record over all my years on my meds is perfect. No failed drug screens, missed appointments etc.... To make matters worse, the receptionist, (not the one who sells the jewelry $ eggs) was nasty! She talked down to me, like I was a bother.
Bottom line, I feel like this practice got me to make my appointment with Gaskin by their kindness and willingness to help me when I talked to them over the phone. Even at my initial appointment, I was treated with the utmost respect and felt heard, understood and was so happy that I found Dr Gaskin. I left crying after my next appointment. I didn't return for my third appointment because of how I was treated and the lies. I would rather withdrawal from my medication than see a doctor who treats me like scum under his shoe. I know a lot of people think he is wonderful and I'm sure he is to some patients. Having owned and operated sober housing for almost 20 years, I know how fragile people are going through addiction issues, mental health issues, suffering from homelessness Etc... He's setting people up to relapse by treating us that way! The last person that should treat people with these issues is a physician who works in the addiction field. I hope that Dr Gaskin never treats another patient the way I was treated that day. It's unprofessional, unethical and inhumane! I hate writing negative reviews but I could not let what he did to me go without making other people aware, that are looking for a Suboxone doctor. Just because we have a past and need some help, doesn't mean we need to be treated less than. He's supposed to be helping us and encouraging people.
Just be cautious.......

I've been going to dr.Gaskins for a little over 10 years now and all I can say is the man saved my life! He doesn't push meds on you and tries to keep you from building a tolerance to the subs by not letting you keep increasing but will if he sees it's detrimental for your recovery. He was once addict as well many moons ago so I promise you he understands what you are going through!

My fiancé has been going to Dr. Gaskin for 7 months now, and he has been an absolute God send. He is honest, and will tell you like it is. He isn't a doctor that will just push medication on you. He genuinely understands what it's like to live in an addicts shoes. His wife Angie is AMAZING and they always answer any questions we have. We have been blessed to be able to come to him so far throughout this journey.

I saw Dr Gaskin for the first two and a half years of my sobriety. He and his wife, Angie, were absolutely wonderful. They were pivotal in my sobriety. Once I reached a point where Dr Gaskin felt that my addiction was to a point where his services were no longer required, he suggested that I find a psychologist or LPC and a psychiatrist (which I did).

I now have 10 years of being clean and sober as of TODAY. I couldn't have reached this point without Angie's patients and humor and Dr Gaskin's professionalism. He works with his clients. HE LISTENS to what they say and he takes that information into consideration before moving forward with any treatment whatsoever. He is honest, forthright, and extensive in his treatment. I have the utmost respect for him.

I have fired so many doctors. I have to say he is one of the few I would never fire.

He is God sent to me. The time he spends with his patients is unmatched. Most doctors use Nurse Practicians to replace them while they vacation or whatever, but still we pay for seeing an M.D.
Dr. Gaskins is there, in front of you going over every concern you have and what we may not know that is concerning. My journey has been long and brutal but I have won the battle and Dr.Gaskins has put me on a path of healing; finally I can exhale.

Ray is the best around. He is well known by many. I feel lucky to have come across his contact info so that I could be referred to Willingway by him and begin my journey towards recovery. So far everything has been great with no surprises. I am very happy with everything at this point. I am currently seeing Ray monthly for medication and recovery guidance.
