I have to agree with the bad reviews here. The front desk lady and the first nurse I seen were nice but after that, yikes. It went downhill quick. Doc comes in with no real greeting, starts in immediately about smoking, and then talks the entire time while tossing cards and papers at you for shoes, creams, and smoking hotlines. He comes off rude and arrogant. I still have no clue what is wrong with my foot and he left the room before I could even ask. I can positively say I won't ever go back.

I really appreciate Dr. LaPointe he is very direct and no nonsense. Makes understanding him easy and I can appreciate his honesty. He is also very open to listening to my concerns. I will be back after I get my boots and such. I am grateful for this opportunity as he is helping me get back on my feet literally speaking. Thanks again doc!

The most unprofessional medical we've ever been to. My mom was given surgery date with no explanations of recovery, no insurance approval, and no ability to give itemized statement to reflect the extreme $$ being given each visit. The next doctor said NO SURGERY and has now graduated with nothing more the PT. Thankful we fired this one and saw a better, More caring, more professional doctor.

I couldn’t disagree more with the bad reviews. I’ve had two surgeries here, and Dr. LaPointe is the best. He’s honest and empathetic. The staff is so kind as well. Everyone is great! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This doctor was the rudest person he made me feel like a piece of garbage I left in tears I am 59 years old and been doing hair since 1983 I know how to deal with clients and it was not the way he treated !!!! I just retired in March because of my health problems and he was in the room with me less than 5 minutes and I left in tears because of the way he spoke to me !!!! Needless to say I won’t ever go back soon as I got in my car I made another appointment to go to someone else .. he should not be a foot doctor maybe a trash man

The nurses are great. The Dr on the other hand seems to always be in a rush and rude. When he was talking to my daughter he asked her if she was permanently removing the toenail or temporarily she says temp and he informs her how stupid that was which I feel was very unprofessional uncalled for and unnecessary.

Im not the type to leave reviews but I would avoid going to see LaPointe . It's disheartening to see a medical professional treat a patient with such a lack of compassion and respect. I would not recommend Dr. LaPointe to anyone seeking empathetic and considerate medical care. My mother has many medical conditions and sees different doctors and specialist and I have never witnessed such a dismissive and rude doctor until now . From the moment he walked in the door he seemed annoyed with my mother and it was truly a waste of time to see him. I assume it was a nurse who took my mom’s X-rays and asked her questions before LaPointe entered the room , he was the kindest one there and even apologized about LaPointes attitude. Besides that gentleman, the experience was absolutely horrible . We will not be coming back for a follow up appointment, I rather take my mom anywhere else.

Worst bedside manner of any doctor in Rome. You will find him very arrogant and seeming like he cares more about himself than he does the patient.

I had experience with him in 2008 when I had an in grown toenail and he cut it out without waiting for the deadening shot to take effect.

Then recently I had been admitted to FMC for an infected wound in my foot and they ended up calling him in to consult on my case. He looked at the wound for no more than 20 seconds and said he saw no infection or anything he needed to take care of, and that I could just “come see him when I was discharged.” He made a point also to mention that he would be gone the next week on a vacation (as if I cared what his plans were)

The next day, the wound care PA that had been seeing me brought the plastic surgeon that works with them to see me, and as soon as he saw the wound, he was appalled that Dr Lapointe had left my foot in the condition it was in.

In reality, there was clearly necrotic tissue in the wound that was contributing to my infection and should have been cleaned out ASAP, but Dr LaPointe apparently ignored that and was leaving it to fester for a week and a half before he was going to see me in his office.

The wound care doctor was luckily able to perform a debridement of the wound and get it taken care of in a few minutes like Dr Lapointe should have. If not for them looking out for me that day, my condition would have likely gotten significantly worse due to Dr LaPointe’s inattentive and uncaring consultation.
