Doctor K and his staff were all such incredible and amazing people. They truly care, and take time to discuss personal matters to help better their patients! The detail and care (to my experience as a former athlete and current coach of many sports) is second to none! Thank you all at the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies!

My foot surgery was very successful. Dr. Koldenhoven is a great surgeon, just not much bed side manner.
Did feel my follow-up visits were rushed.

After 16 years of progressively worsening pain, I sought help with Dr. Koldenhoven. He rushed the evaluation which included a quick glance at my x-ray & roughly yanking my toe & asking if that hurt. OUCH!! He had it all figured out & recommended surgery. He dismissed the history of the injury to the joint, sure that it was merely a bone spur. Going into surgery, he assured me that it would feel a lot better, but wouldn't be perfect due to some arthritis. He insisted that it did not need fusing. I am truly shocked at the pain I have suffered since, SIX months later! It's much worse. At one of the follow ups, his PA was kind enough to inform me that once he got a look at the joint during surgery, it was much worse than he expected. Now that the bone spur was removed, it was going to be able to move fully, causing much more pain than before. The doctor came in & never apologized & got snarky & hateful. I now need to have it fused... with another surgeon!
Please seek care elsewhere.

Best to seek another physician. When we did, he needed to fix the damage done by this one (though too late) as well as the original repair that had not been done correctly by this one. And inquire about plans for anesthesia and use of nerve blocks in advance, to offer yourself time to educate, question, and make an informed decision prior to signing off on it right before going into surgery. If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. The decision is yours.

I'd recommend getting a second opinion. Said I would need surgery in order to avoid arthritis. I was told the recovery would be 6months. He did not go into detail though that in 6months I would be starting the recovery not finishing. Here I am 11months past my surgery and my ankle is stuck and my ROM is gone. I have done 16 physical therapy apartments and still can only move my ankle 5 degrees. (10 degrees of movement on my good ankle). He always was super quick when chatting with me never giving me any details or taking the time to show he cares. And when telling him this im simply told "you have to work on that with your PT or talk to your regular docotor". I felt completely on my own from the consultation to the last appointment. Ok thanks for taking away my ability to run hike swim jump. Im praying I won't need another surgery to fix this mess. I strongly suggest getting a second doctor's opinion before rushing to surgery with gregg.

This Dr made me feel like a numbered cattle. Badly swollen foot was blistering after a car accident. Offered no explanation, and seemed annoyed. Would never want to see him again.

If 10 stars were available, I would give them for the care I received at Orthopedic Center of The Rockies... and extra special thanks to Dr. Koldenhoven!
