I posted a bad review because the office never responded to me or my husband about a supposed issue with insurance, until my husband called back about his insurance.

Renee in the office claimed I refused to give her my card when I went for my annual exam, even though I handed it to her and when she adamantly refused to take the card and insisted I didn't have insurance, I said to call the number on the back and she again refused. Even after I called back and said my husband and I had the same insurance, she again cut me off and insisted I didn't have insurance.

I am flabbergasted that she would claim I refused to hand her my insurance card, and wouldn't take the info when I called back. I never got a response from the office manager until I posted here. And then he again lied and said I wouldn't provide my insurance info, and even though he never responded to me personally, he posted my private medical information which is a HIPAA violation. I have filed a complaint with his office and the board and I ask Yelp to take his comment down that contains my personal info.

All they had to do was take my card and if they had questions, to call for coverage. I am furious that he replied and never contacted me and asked for my insurance information if they had a question. Obviously the first thing you do at every visit is hand them your insurance card. Which I did. And again, handed her the card and said to call the number on the back to confirm coverage. My insurance has changed for the last year, so I don't know what their problem is. It sounds like they are understaffed and just took their frustrations out in me. Extremely unprofessional.

This place has gone downhill. Seems like they are pretending people don't have insurance to get money directly into their own pockets. Not a good look if you want to stay in the community and keep practicing. I'm pretty sure they'll lose their business considering it sounds a lot like insurance fraud.
Also their responses to reviews (like this one) are deeply unprofessional, catty, and victim blaming/gaslighting at its finest. Most people try to rectify issues in their business not feeble apologies like "sorry you feel that way". Gross.

I like Dr. Jauhar but I really love her NP, Samantha Parkinson! I expressed my desire and struggles to lose weight. Dr. Jauhar had me see Samantha. I'm so glad she did! She connected me with a Nutritionist and at 62yo I didn't realize how much I DIDN'T know about fueling my body. Each month when I see Samantha she has been helpful and encouraging. It's been a huge impact. For me, I haven't experienced any negative issues as expressed in previous posts. I do recommend this doctor and staff.

The waiting time is great!
As most of the medical office if you need daily medication they would like to see you every 6 months, and that speaks well about them. I want a doctor's office that cares about me. the providers are very warm and care about the patients.

I have been visiting this office since 2015.
The waiting time to be seeing is amazing . Less than 15 .
The cleanness even before Covid was outstanding .
The staff strives hard to accommodate and serve all the patients.
I have read some of the reviews , a lot complaints about co pay, and having to visit the doctor to get refills .
If you sick , and have to be in meds , won’t you want to see the doctor as after as she recommends , to make sure that
1 medication is working
2 that you not having a side effect from long expose to the same medication.
So if a person is complaining about not getting a refill because they think is unfair that they have to pay a copay , are they really worry about keeping up with their health ?
People this is an office, they have bills to pay , and insurance pays less and less every year .
For those on pain meds , work hard to get off them , and not to get a refill .
As far as for my family , we happy with the doctor and all the staff .
If you want a doctor , that tells you what’s best for you and you willing to fallow her advice , this is the one. But if you just want a refill , without having to visit a doctor , this is not the one. They have rules to follow .

Dr. Jauhar was punctual and extremely professional. During the consultation, she took the time to listen to all my concerns and provided detailed explanations for each of my questions. Their compassionate approach made me feel comfortable and well cared for.

I highly recommend Dr. Jauhar to anyone looking for a dedicated and skilled medical professional. Their commitment to patient care is evident, and I am grateful for the excellent service provided.

I really loved this practice when we moved here 3 years ago, but something has really changed over the last year. I’m not crazy about the fact that there are no sick appointments. If you call when you’re sick, you’re offered an appointment 10-14 days out. Thanks, but in 10-14 days I’ll either be better or dead. The biggest issue I’ve had is trying to get referrals processed. Without exception, every single time it is an absolute nightmare. They’ve referred me to providers in Atlanta for routine procedures. Really, Atlanta? A recent call to ask the office to correct a referral that they inaccurately submitted resulted in being told I need to make another appointment. For what? I already had an appointment determining the referral was necessary. Why do I need to wait 10-14 days for an appointment for the referral to be correctly submitted? I’m healthy now, but what if I become seriously ill? I just don’t feel confident this practice is competent enough to help me get the treatment I need. Receiving quality health care shouldn’t be so complicated. I’m not sure what’s changed at Islands Family Medical Center, but it isn’t for the better. Maybe they have too many patients to effectively manage? Well, now they will have 4 fewer, as our family will look for a doctor where we actually feel cared for!

They have declined in the area of competent office staff severely. I believe they are also committing fraudulent billing. I was a patient at this office for 18 years but the way they treat you when you dispute something that you can prove is very unprofessional. I informed the office in December 2023 that I had no longer had insurance, that's all I should need to do I would think. I was seen in February and paid $200 towards what they said was a balance of about $290, I called two weeks later when I got paid again to pay the remaining amount and was told TWICE that I had no balance. Then in March I get a statement that shows $0 paid towards my account. I inquired about this on March 25th and was told someone from billing would reach out to me by the end of the week. Then I was told that they were trying to get insurance to pay. I told them again, I do not have insurance. I was then told they would have to go back and adjust past charges to reflect this. What I asked for a detailed statement for the past 6 months. This email was ignored, twice. It's now 3 weeks later and I have not gotten an answer on who pocketed the $200 that I proved I paid nor any response at all to my concerns. I referred several family members here and hope they don't end up with the incompetent services I am dealing with.
