I went to my family dentist in agony and needed an extraction that, unfortunately, he could not perform. He referred me to the surgeon Dr. Hillgen. The secretary called and explained that I was very uncomfortable and asked if I could be seen right away. They told me to go straight to thier office. I was very thankful I was able to be seen right away. I was very impressed with the whole office! It was modern, clean, very neat with no clutter and quiet. I was greeted by a very kind front desk representative who assisted me to get me right in. The entire staff was very pleasant and professional. They explaining the procedure and post- procedure instructions and answered all my questions. Dr. Hillgen was so nice and soft spoken. They all expressed kindness, compassion and understanding. Working in the medical field for almost 20 years, this was refreshing compared to many other doctors offices I've been in. I highly recommend this office!

1 star is even to much to give to this practice. The office manager Cathy is the rudest person I have ever encountered. My father saw his dentist in middlebury today and was referred to go to this office in waterbury to have his wisdom teeth extracted. We didn't even get past trying to make his appt. Cathy office manager was rude, disrespectful. She placed my husband on hold to locate an appt for my elder father as this was an emergency situation. My husband place her on speaker while waiting for her return to the call. I am my husband where discussing my father's retirement and how it didn't include insurance when he had to take early retirement as he got hurt on the job. He realized there was no sound coming from the phone and said omg the call was disconnected. He called back and Cathy picked and he said I'm sorry I'm calling back as I believe the call was disconnected. She had the nerve to say the call wasn't disconnected I hung it up as I am busy and have alot going on that I didn't need to hear you and your wife talking shyt or arguing. My husband said excuse me ....I said your rude and requested her name at that time I didn't have it she refused to provide her name and disconnected the call. I called back 3 times and she forwarded me to the office voice-mail. I called again she pick up I ask for the supervisor she said she was the supervisor I ask her name. She said Cathy I asked for the doctor or the owner she told me she isn't sitting her arguing with me and I can go find another doctor. I never have experience such disrespect from any medical facility I have ever dealt with. I informed the office that refers me and I called another office and was able to get my dad with private insurance, from watertown an appt for Monday!!!!

I brought my daughter to this practice to have her wisdom teeth out because a friend of hers went here and recommended it. I had been to another practice earlier in the year with my other daughter. I didn't want to return there because the doctor was very arrogant. This doctor was fine except I didn't really "get" his sense of humor. He asked me when we met if I was the patient's sister. Do men think middle-aged women take that as a compliment or something? He also made other not funny jokes. But I didn't care about him as a comedian as long as he was good doctor. He was fine. It was a lot more expensive ($400 more) than my other daughter's procedure. That may have been an insurance issue, so be sure to investigate if you have other options. Maybe we could've waited until the following year. My last comment is I got so sick of everyone in the office addressing me as "mom". For example, "Mom, can you sign this form" or "Mom you need to make a follow up appointment" etc. They had my name and could've addressed me as "Ms. so and so". It seemed like laziness they didn't want to take note of my proper name. Bottom line: good doctor, did a good job and my daughter is doing fine.

I curse the day I ever set my foot at that place. He doesn’t even deserve this 1 Star I’m giving, just doing so that I can write my review ?Got “4” of my wisdom tooth’s taken out at the same day..up to 2 months I haven’t healed. Always went to him for checkups and whenever I tried explaining how I’m feeling he will be very defensive and will give me a very bad attitude..iv never been so depressed like this ever in my life. I’m still in so much pain as I type this.. how I wish I could have never met him May God touch and Heal me cause this Man has caused me so much PAIN!!!!!!

First time in Dr. Hillgen office, him and his staff are amazing. Went for wisdon teeth extraction, I felt super comfortable and relax, he let you feel you are in very good hands, explain all details and answear any question you have. They call you after the sugery to see how you are doing and let you know that you can call if you have any concern or more questions. I am super glad a friend of mine recommended to me and she was right, Dr. Hillgen is an amazing surgeon.
