We really miss Dr. Tojar, one of a kind thorough doctor. Haven’t been able to find another that thorough, machine like process.

Lack of empathy and willingness to test for preventative.

Very disappointed in the manner in which I was treated. I had a late morning appointment however, by mid morning, I was notified that My father was deteriorating quickly and would probably not make it through the night. I drove over to Midland paid my co-pay in person and asked them to have the nurse practitioner. Call me with my Test results.
I guess in someone’s time of need When they are losing a loved one, you would think they would accommodate you in any way they could. But this was not the case. While I was trying to get myself ready and packed to jump on a flight to New York to see my dying father They insisted on me signing into a video chat sitting there for 15 minutes and wait until the nurse practitioner signed on and then discuss my results on a video chat. When I called the office, I was only offered to reschedule my appointment if I couldn’t sign online, a bit of an attitude, and my money back for my co-pay. Thanks for your compassion and understanding Midland..

I had a lab work, a procedure at the doctors office, and two shots in one day. So I basically visited all three sections of the practice. I have always appreciated the folks in the lab and have had good experiences there. I had a horrific experience at the doctors office and the procedure office today. The incompetence, lack of empathy, disregard, topped with some homophobia by the tech who gave me my shots was shocking. I waited for over an hour to be seen for a procedure that I was very anxious about. The office changed my appointment time and the doctor performing the procedure without even informing me until I asked the front desk what was going on. Apparently nobody knows anything that is going on and nobody talks to any other person in the practice. They couldn’t keep the name of my procedure clear, and they even mixed up which vaccine I was getting, until I corrected them. The lab tech said something was “gay” and then when I said that was offensive, she said that was what she used to call things that were “stupid back in the day”. I have never felt extraordinarily comfortable at Midland as a T in the LGBTQ alphabet, but this experience was horrendous. I am planning on getting my second dose shot with them, hopefully without the homophobia, but after that leaving the practice completely. I don’t have a lot of options, but I may as well get an office that functions properly if I have to deal with the homophobia and lack of empathy for patients anyways.

For a longtime I defended Midland Medical for all the ridiculous things they have done, however todays visit changed my mind on that…I show up for my appt approach the window and say good morning I’m here for my 8am, sorry I’m a few minutes late…response…did I ask you to approach my window? Did I ask you for any of your information? Did I call you up yet? Was the response I got this morning…very customer service oriented. I apologize and step back and I’m called up I’m asked for my name and DOB…I give it to her and immediately she starts with the mmmmhmmm…like what are you confused about why the mumbling under your breath? Then proceeds to tell me my insurance is inactive. I said that’s strange here is my policy showing active and I was just here a few days ago and no one said a word. Then I tell her I had a similar issue yesterday at another doctors office and they said to process it Monday as when I picked my plan for next year my current plan was no longer available and they had a glitch. Her response was that’s not what my computer says. Great ok I reply..then ask why was this not looked into yesterday before I came in today since the insurance company is closed on weekends. Her response I don’t know you either need to pay for the entire cost of the visit or leave. I could see if I was a new patient it would make sense but not to someone who has been there regularly for the past 3-4 years. I asked for who is in charge and I’m not given a name but told she is not here until Monday. I asked for a supervisor and I’m told I can go across the hall and look for her. Again the customer service is beyond amazing ?. I go across the hall to find the girl who helped me on my last appointment less than a week ago and told I either pay or leave. After being beyond frustrated I made the decision to leave and Monday I’ll request my medical records and find a new doctor. I love my doctor but don’t need the headache from a front desk worker who had an attitude from the start. I should have realized when I opened my explanation of benefits and say they charged over $6,000 for 3 vials of blood plus a $20 administration fee to help ease my day to get my blood drawn at their locations instead of at a Quest. I like to add that as someone who works in healthcare, midland medical is the ONLY place that charges an admin fee for wanting to draw my blood there.

If the reviews for this facility are carefully read, the reader will understand that most of the low ones are patients who were very demanding and wanted instant results on some issue. Unfortunately, in America today, you just don’t get instant results.

Except – – I have had tremendous success with this facility and almost every capacity. The only issue I ever had was a long wait time when someone was out sick.

The nurse practitioners were absolutely fantastic at every appointment and have recommended better medication than other doctors I’ve had in the past. Not only that, but when I needed a very expensive medication replaced with a cheaper one, they instantly called it into the pharmacy.

Did it take me a long time to get an appointment? Yes it did. The initial appointment takes about three months to schedule because they are so careful with their clientele. However, since COVID-19, every doctor in South Florida requires a wait time and charges significant penalties if you failed to show up.

The facility is well worth the wait. Ignore the negative reviews as most of them could be attributed to any physician in South Florida.

The office staff of Midland medical has always been polite and professional with me and the
response from this office staff has been better than any doctor I have visited in South Florida.

As for specialty medications, they do have a dedicated staff to look into that for co-pay cards and programs. However, again, in our community clients need to realize that the patient needs to do a little bit of work themselves. we no longer live in an environment, where the doctor does everything for the patient. With the variance in insurance programs, I have had to make several calls myself, but always had success.

Overall, I’ve been extremely impressed with Midland.

Terrible front desk service. My insurance assigned Timothy Mcdowell as my primary physician. I recently found out that I have a 7cm fibroid that needs to be surgically removed immediately to avoid fertility problems, but I can’t have a specialist look at it without a referral from him. I called over 2 weeks ago to book an appointment but they wouldn’t book it. They told me they’ll send me an email to create an account, and that someone would contact me to book an appointment. I created the account as soon as I received their email. No one ever called me, so I started calling them. The phone never picks up. I’ve left messages detailing them of what’s going on and why this is urgent. Still, not a single front desk person has had the decency of calling me back. My husband and I want to have another child and we only have so much time to be together in between him being on deployment in the U.S. Navy.I also stressed that to them in my messages and with the front desk person I spoke to initially. They obviously could care less. Now I have to go through the trouble of contacting my health insurance to change my primary doctor. What a waste of time. Just awful. Don’t waste your time like I did.

While Dr. Lee provides extremely knowledgeable care, when accessible, the difficulties to contact him, his assistant, or any other health professional is highly discouraging. Whether to make an appointment or to speak with a person, it is an extreme hassle. Additionally, when calling Dr. Lee's office, the prompt transfers you to his assistant, which advises you to leave a message and that calls would be returned within 24 hours. However, a call is never initiated, leaving us to chase down a health care professional to resolve our healthcare needs. While we are always greeted and treated kindly at the facility, the Healthvana access point or simply calling Midland Medical is terrible. Response times of 36 hours, or if at all, is unacceptable. It is with reluctance that I write this review, but their communication and responsiveness to their patients’ needs does not reflect one of caring or urgency in any way. Our recent experience involved NO contact regarding our medical concerns whatsoever. We also asked to speak with the front desk manager and were transfered to a generic voicemail with no calls returned after 5 days of making the inquiry. I encourage Midland Medical Center to thoroughly review their communication and care practices immediately for the sake of their patients and common decency.
