Since moving to Blairsville in 2008 I've needed to establish a primary care doctor and finding Dr. Crystal Gary has been the best decision for medical reasons that I've made. The office is busy but that's not a problem. She has treated me with great professionalism and always explained everything and has never rushed an appointment or exam. I believe that if I'd not gone to see her when I did that I would not be here now in 2024. Thank you so much Dr. Crystal Gary. I highly recommend this family-friendly physicians services.

I saw Dr. Margi Johnson and would never recommend her to anyone. I only saw her maybe 3 times. I am a nurse myself so I know how patients should be treated. She started by fat shaming me which always works well to make patients lose wt. She accused me of lying that I left messages and her staff never called me back. I did leave messages that were never returned. I made two separate appointments to discuss fatigue that she wouldn’t even discuss because we talked about a bladder infection that I happened to have at the time. She is rude and condescending and I am so sorry to have even started with her.

When messages are left for Dr. Johnsons nurse they are NEVER returned.
Appointment was made for a flu shot waited over 45 minutes never called back, when asked they said sorry. No explanation, don't care that you leave. Sad no pride in your work, what has this become.

BEWARE BEWARE. You DO NOT want to see a "doctor" by the name of Margi Johnson. She is rude, condescending, sarcastic, unethical, and unprofessional. By any measure, the VERY WORST doctor I have encountered in my 69 years. My spouse had just tested positive for COVID, in this very office, by another practitioner. I was in to see "Doctor" Johnson on another matter and advised about my spouse testing positive for COVID, and the fact I was not feeling well. "Doctor" Johnson REFUSED TO ADMINISTER A COVID TEST ON ME. She said It "wouldn't matter whether I knew I had it or not"! She then gave me a condescending lecture about "viral loads" and that I would feel like crap for three months, one way or another! I was beyond stunned. I had to go to the Union County Health Department to pick up a COVID test and guess what? I tested positive! Thank you "Doctor" Johnson for your incompetence! North Georgia Family Medicine be warned. "Doctor" Johnson is a GUARANTEED medical malpractice lawsuit, just waiting to happen. Sooner or later, it's inevitable. "Doctor" Johnson should be immediately terminated with cause.

I waited over a week to write this review so that I could collect my thoughts and feelings about the experience I had at North Georgia Family Medicine. First and foremost, I contacted this office as I am in need of a general practitioner because I have been experiencing pretty severe anxiety (I was diagnosed at an earlier age, and it's been well-managed until recently; my dad passed away, and I've experienced work-related stressors, etc. that has caused my anxiety to come back aggressively). I made an appointment about 2-3 weeks out, and was called the morning of my 12PM appointment to reschedule. Apparently the front office had made a mistake and scheduled too many patients for one day - not a big deal. I let them know that I had pretty severe symptoms that were interfering with my daily life, and that I had hoped to be seen by anyone available for that day. I was suffering, and had even made an emergency visit to the hospital's ER one week prior to the day of my appointment because symptoms were debilitating. The office staff who called me to reschedule, Melanie, let out several sighs, put me on hold, and came back to tell me that they'd let me keep my original appointment time. She was extremely short with me, and because of the infractions in her speech, I felt like I was burdensome for wanting to come in. I asked if I had done anything wrong, to which she hushed me and then HUNG UP ON ME. I immediately fell into a panic and started crying, shocked that this was my first experience with the team at NGFM. Against my better judgement, I went to the office for my appointment anyway, and my experience did not improve at all once there. Dr. Marji Johnson was extremely rude. She invoked further anxiety by telling me it was foolish that I went to the ER the week before, and that I had exposed myself to cancer-causing radiation because I let the doctor at the hospital perform a pelvic CT scan on me while there. I let her know that I was sorry, and that I felt she was being a bit harsh. I felt bullied(!), so I also apologized to her for requesting to keep my appointment. She told me I had to be accountable for my own feelings.

I am still shocked that this was my experience. I cannot express enough my disgust with her attitude and lack of concern for a new patient. I was not in a good state of mind while in her office (flooded with anxiety and depression) and the way she spoke to me was indicative of her atrocious bedside manners.

I'm sure the rest of the medical staff isn't so bad, but if you plan to make an appointment, I sincerely and strongly discourage you from doing so with Dr. Marji Johnson, DO. She will belittle you, is very demeaning, and might even make your anxiety symptoms worse. That was my experience, anyway.

With that being said, Sydney, a front office manager, was very kind about everything. I told her what happened and she offered immediate support. If it weren't for her and the nurse that took my vitals (who I cannot remember by name), I would probably have nastier things to say. Now that I'm feeling a little better (thank you, vacation!), I wanted to share my experience so as to prevent the same thing from happening to anyone else.

Fantastic doctors office! My daughter's pediatrician wasn't able to get her in and referred NGFM if she needed to be seen. I called and the receptionist was incredibly kind and was able to fit me in within 30 minutes of my call. Service was quick, attentive, and compassionate care was definitely something they strive for. So impressed!

I have been a patient of Dr Livingston for 5 years. He is great. The staff is the problem. I know from past experiences that your staff can make or break your practice. The problem is returning calls. The last several times I have left a message with his nurse I was never called back forcing me to go there in person. You can always get in touch with the appointment line unfortunately they are off site in a different location. They told me they have no way to contact the doctor or his nurse.
I told Dr Livingston about the problem and he shook his head knowingly. He has heard the same complaint many times. He seems to have little control because the staff is contracted out.
My wife and I are considering finding a new primary care provider.
