My mom recently met with Dr. Chambers to go over the results of her latest mammogram and ultrasound and discuss next steps which in her case involve undergoing a biopsy procedure. English is her second language so it takes her a little while to understand and process things, specially when it comes to medicine/health. Although Dr. Chambers was professional and seemed knowledgeable, my mom described him as being cold and “pushy”. My mom was clearly stressed and anxious as any normal person would be in this situation. Dr. Chambers proceeded to tell her that she basically had cancer without even doing the biopsy or having any concrete results. The nurse or physician assistant that was in the room then explained to my mom that the purpose of the biopsy would be to determine what type of cancer my mom had and figure out the best treatment options; again implying that my mom definitely had cancer. At this point my mom was very emotional and Dr. Chambers suggested that she be prescribed Valium (a sedative!!) to try to calm her nerves. I am very disappointed at how quick some doctors are to prescribe highly addictive drugs. That should be the last resort!

I understand that doctors must be completely honest and transparent with their patients and prepare them for the worst - but this doctor lacked empathy while communicating these very delicate and life changing news to my mom. There was no effort on their part (Dr. Chambers and assistant) to comfort her in any way - other than to try to prescribe a highly addictive drug for her nerves. Needless to say we cancelled the biopsy appointment and will be going to a different clinic.

Dr Gill was amazing !! She is kind and helpful and was a wonderful surgeon. Sensitive to your needs. I had emergency surgery and was so fortunate to get Dr Gill. And her staff especially Tanya are fabulous
