I went to doctor Doherty office for the first time on September 13th for an initial visit because I could barely walk. His assistant Arthur saw how much pain I was in and sent me straight to the emergency room. From there, I was put on pain medication for comfort and by September 17th Dr Doherty performed surgery. 1 hour after I came to the hospital room from the recovery room, I was walking. The very next day I was sent home with no leg pain. Today is Sept. 19, the only pain that I have, is from the incision. There are no words to describe my gratitude towards Dr Doherty. Not only is he an excellent surgeon, he has an excellent bedside manner. And believe me, it makes a huge difference. I will be FOREVER grateful to Dr Doherty, and Author Welsh.

Coming out of my first surgery by Dr. Doherty, I told him I would do this again in a heartbeat. He and Art Welch are amazing. Highly recommend him.

Don’t be fooled by the good reviews, I waited 2 months for an appointment to tell me 2 weeks before they are canceling, then the day of the appointment 1.15 before the appointment they call me to tell me they are changing my appointment to a video. I call the office and the office doesn’t want to hear anything. They don’t care and then speaking to the PA on video , starts off as if I’m wasting her time by even being on the call. I try and call back to talk to the manager about how I was treated and I hear her in the background saying “ just tell him I’ll call him”. It’s crazy that the Health care system can be so messed up.

Excellent Doctor! 81 year old Mom had spine surgery after suffering severe degeneration of bone compressing her nerves and needed a laminectomy. Mom was always active and could no longer walk pain free and miraculously post-op one week she's out walking and driving again! Thank you Dr. Doherty! xoxo Superior bedside manner, wonderful human being, wonderful office staff and excellent care at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. A+++++ Being a nurse, I can attest, he is the very best! I inherited Mom's genes and if the time comes I should need back surgery, only this doctor will work on me! God Bless Dr. Doherty!

I would give “zero” stars if possible. I had a Telehealth appointment scheduled for 2 p.m. , after they cancelled my first one without telling me. I waited in the Zoom call for 95 minutes with no contact after the initial intake with a nurse. I attempted twice to contact Yale Neurosurgery both in New Haven and New London. Neither location helped me to have my appointment. I have lost a full day’s pay now for taking two half days off from work.

I am unable to exercise, bend over, take any medication, have tingling in my extremities and issues with my bladder and GI. After now being put off twice over 4 months, I have zero faith in Yale and it’s doctors. Especially after other reviews showing the same line of patient disregard.
