Dr. Artis is truly outstanding. She is kind, professional, and, above all, focused on her patients. Every time I see her, my needs are fully addressed, which is why she remains my primary care provider. Dr. Artis is knowledgeable and always strives to deliver the highest quality of care. She takes her time and asks thoughtful questions to ensure understanding. I am grateful for her, the work she does, and the exceptional service she provides. Thank you, Dr. Artis.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the office of Dr. April Artist, which unfortunately was my third unsatisfactory visit. While I appreciate the accommodation for my early arrival and the excellent service provided by the intake desk and the nurse who took my vitals, my encounter with Dr. Artist was far from professional.

Upon entering the room, Dr. Artist greeted me in a manner more fitting for a retail associate than a healthcare professional. She immediately questioned why I was there for a prescription appointment, even though she hadn’t seen me in a year. When I explained that I had come for an appointment previously, only to find that she had called out of work, she seemed irritated, and the interaction took a sharp turn for the worse.

I found it perplexing that Dr. Artist seemed so upset over a routine prescription refill for non-narcotic medications. Her demeanor was far from what I would expect from a primary care physician, and it left me feeling as though she is not truly invested in the care of her patients, particularly Black women.

While the office itself functions more like a mini clinic, with decent customer service from the staff, my experiences with Dr. Artist have been disappointing enough that I would not feel comfortable relying on her for care if I ever faced a serious medical condition. An apology and explanation from Dr. Artist would be appreciated, but as it stands, I would recommend looking elsewhere for more attentive and professional medical care.

Awesome medical team, Dr Marxer has been my doctor for 15 plus years. Not to mention he took excellent care of my mother. You will not find a better staff

I took my great aunt here a week or ago to see Dr. Marxer. There’s a young lady working at the front desk that is so wonderful and helpful! I wish I remembered her name, but my great aunt was not feeling well, nor was I. I was crying. She helped my aunt check-in with MyChart, and she spoke kind words to me as well. I’ll always remember her because she is a ray of light.

I was billed $150 out of $671 that insurance covered for a routine conversation about “vitamin D” and being asked if I wanted a refill on a prescription from my visit in February. Dr. Peters, who no longer works at this practice, asked if I wanted a vitamin D test, which I declined. So why am I getting billed for discussing vitamin D when she's the one that brought it up? The same thing happened with my prescription refill. I've been using this medicine my entire life. It's in my medical history, and I've always received a prescription for it at every doctor's visit without ever getting billed for simply being asked if I wanted it refilled.

Furthermore, it's impossible to reach anyone. I called the number on my billing invoice and the office number, and both calls were dropped before they even rang. How am I supposed to correct my billing if I can't get through to anyone

If this practice's policy is to price gouge patients by billing hundreds for preventive care, then I won’t be returning. Correct the billing code because our entire conversation was nothing more than “Do you want a vitamin D test?” and “Do you want your prescription refilled?” It's ridiculous to charge $671 for that. I've never experienced this scammy behavior before at a medical office and I go to the doctors multiple times a year.

Update: I reached out to their billing via MyChart and they've doubled down that being asked by a doctor to get a Vitamin D test and getting a prescription refill is outside of an annual exam. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The one thing that surprised me was you have to check-in through the MyChart app. Even the elderly are expected to do this. So if you thought you could get away with not signing up for MyChart and not downloading the app - you're wrong. The staff was really helpful though, particularly to the elderly, thank goodness. My doctor was fabulous. Dr. Artis listened to me, checked my concerns answered all my questions. She cared about me being comfortable- she let me put my top back on after we had done everything that required I not have one on just so I would feel more comfortable through the rest of the appointment. I've never had a doctor show me that much consideration before. 10 out of 10. I'll definitely be keeping her as my primary care doctor.

Dr. Epstein was fine. The girls at the front desk were the stars of the show, if it wasn’t for them it would be a 1 star review. The medical assistant that took me back was the most cold, unfriendly, unwelcoming “medical professional” i’ve ever met. In 10 years from now when there are robots doing her job, (hopefully not - kinda trying to make a joke) i am sure the AI robots would be more friendly and warm. She did not ask how i was doing. I don’t think she made eye contact with me once. Truly she should strongly consider a career change. Did she do her job? yes. Could she have smiled, acted somewhat interested in her job - absolutely yes. She just honestly seemed miserable to be there, the more i contemplate my experience as i’m typing this and reflecting, to be honest i kinda feel bad for her, you could just tell with her voice , body language, and interpersonal skills that she absolutely hates her job. Probably won’t be going there again.

I had an 11:30 am appointment Monday. Got there at 11am and tried to check in. Receptionist told me she could not check me in, and I would need to do it on Mychart. I told her I didn't have my username and password with me. She recommended that I should reset it and get new username and password so I could check in for my appointment. After 20 minutes of trying to log in, I gave up
and told her to forget about myappointment. So I left and will never go back to this practice that I have been with for years.
In reply to the Piedmont response to my initial complaint, I just cancelled my appointment with a new Piedmont Physician GP. Don't try to infer that you care about the general lack of customer service and patient compassion
