Horrible, horrible experience. Extremely long waiting times and it’s not even crowded. There’s an elderly lady in wheelchair needing assistance to use the restroom and NO ONE will help her. This place needs to be shut down and/or investigated. And please do not respond with the generic response about reaching out. FIX THE PROBLEMS!!!!
*update*
Have been waiting for 6 hours it’s after 1 am on Saturday February 8, 2025. Elderly lady in wheelchair is in dire need of assistance. She’s run out of oxygen in her tank and is shivering. She was here before us so I can only imagine what her wait time has been. Man at the reception desk is lazy as all get out. Anytime anyone asks him a questions he knows nothing and makes no effort or attempt to find out. Why is he here? I watched a nurse come out and have a full fledge conversation with Mr. I Don’t Know for at least 10 minutes (who we later found out was the charge nurse) and then proceed to call a patient back AFTER the conversation was done. People are walking out. Not sure whose chart these folks are reading but we were just called back for a head scan because their records show there was a fall and an injury to the head which has nothing to do with this visit. Seems like an attempt for unnecessary tests being billed to patients. The charge nurse is extremely rude!! Asked her a question and of course the answer was “I don’t know”. That must be what the staff are trained to say, “I don’t know”.

Since I’ve been sitting here for so long I’m starting to take notice at how disgusting this place is. The vents need to be cleaned. The dust is super thick. The vents on the round part of the ceiling have some type of organic growth that looks more like mold. There’s trash and empty cans/bottles lying around, specks of blood on the floor along with discarded tissue on the floor.

After finally inquiring of the wait time we were ushered to a room, but before we could get through the door the charge nurse asked us to wait because she needed to see what was going on in the lobby (a group of young ladies came in)…smh! Again, someone else was a priority. We’ve been sitting back here now for some time waiting on the doctor. It’s after 3 am. We’ve been here for a little more than 8 hours. We’ve been assured the mysterious Dr. Fisher is on his way. We made the decision to leave …unseen by anyone after waiting on Dr. Fisher. As we were leaving a nurse chased us down in the parking lot trying to have a conversation and tell us “Dr. Fisher said….”. Mind you, we are in the middle of parking lot, where other people are while this nurse is yelling to discuss medical treatment. This act was not only unprofessional but it is a clear violation of HIPAA. I truly hope insurance is not billed for unnecessary tests and a consult with Dr. Fisher as he never saw or consulted with us and we weren’t seen by anyone!

I never knew a hospital could operate like a complete circus. Again…don’t respond with the lame “please reach out to us”…FIX THE PROBLEM!!

Piedmont Rockdale needs to be thoroughly investigated.

This hospital is a joke!!!

I arrived at the hospital around 4:15 am and checked in. The initial process only took about five minutes, and I was then taken to the back briefly before being sent out to the lobby. That lobby was unbearably cold—easily around 35 degrees, if not colder.
I was called back in for blood work, then sent right back to that freezing lobby. I spent almost two hours in there, from 4:15 am to 6:00 am. This experience was not only uncomfortable, but also deeply concerning for someone who was already feeling sick. How is it acceptable to keep patients in such harsh conditions?
Once I was finally seen by the medical staff, things improved. The doctors were professional, and they ordered a CT scan, provided treatment, and gave me proper follow-up instructions with the correct medication. I’m thankful for the care once I was actually in the back, but the initial experience in the lobby was dreadful.
I’ve honestly seen pets treated better than how patients are treated in that lobby. I strongly encourage you to reconsider the entire front-end process. How someone is treated in the those first moments can make a huge difference, and this felt unprofessional and downright unkind. I will still end up paying a significant amount for this experience, but I hope you’ll take the time to address these concerns and improve conditions for others in the future.

On 3-3-25 I checked in for an x-ray at 2:51 pm and was not seen until 5:30 pm. After approximately 2hrs, I went to the front desk for information and was told that the tech was on his way. This should have been announced early to give patients a choice. There weren’t many patients to begin with. By the time I left, it was too late to take care of my business that I’d planned for that day.

I was in a really bad accident in Conyers on hwy 138 at the I-20 bridge last Thursday. My daughter took me to Piedmont Rockdale. I was checked in pretty quickly. I was called to the back and my vitals were taken. Of course they asked a lot of questions. I was prepped for a CT scan to ensure that I didn't have any broken bones. The scan did not take long and the results were reviewed with me. My overall stay was approximately 4 hours. it probably would have been shorter but I had so many questions and asked them to check on other things. Everyone that assisted me were pleasant and professional. I have heard a lot of negative things about coming to Piedmont Rockdale. My experience was very positive and exceptional.

Terrible Experience at Piedmont Rockdale ER

I had an awful experience at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital's ER. I waited over 7 hours just to be seen, with little to no communication from the staff. The waiting area was overcrowded, and it felt like they had no sense of urgency for the patients who were clearly in distress.

The staff seemed indifferent, and there was no explanation for the excessive delay. If you’re looking for timely medical care, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. This ER needs serious improvements in efficiency and patient care. Absolutely unacceptable!

Had to take my mom there. We got there at the perfect time no one was there but even if there was how they responded to the answers that my mom gave them about her symptoms was AMAZING!!!!!! They took no chances and made sure that she was ok and ran every test they could to figure out what was going on. They broke everything down on what they were doing why they were it and the customer service from everyone was awesome. They were super nice to her and I. Not like other hospitals I won't mention but I absolutely would recommend and I'm overly satisfied with the treatment they have my mother. I don't remember everyone's name but nurse Stacy was amazing! Everyone was awesome! Thank you so much Piedmont!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible experience! I arrived on 1/4/2025 around 2 pm. Upon arrival they took me back to take blood and do an ekg due to my symptoms. Placed me back in the lobby and then called me back to the triage to ask questions and check my blood pressure level and temp and then placed me back in the lobby. I then was called back again to do an x-ray then placed back in the lobby. I wasn't called to go back to a room until after 6 pm. Once I finally got back in the room the nurse came in immediately put on a blood pressure cuff and the ekg wires again then left. SHE NEVER CAME BACK! So I pressed the button to ask for the nurse, there was a shift change and had to wait for that to take place. The next person that came in after 7 pm (a whole hour waiting for a shift change, mind you I'm there due to breathing issues) said he would be my paramedic..wait..huh..no nurse (and he seemed so confused) Then states we are going to take more blood and give you an IV. Like wait y'all did all this already what were the results. He goes to check and comes back and gives the results. They then proceed to take more blood (for what I don't know) and place the IV and leaves. I was in there almost another hour waiting for the doctor who was making rounds. I had to press the button for the doctor. She came in immediately and gave info and gave me two medicines. I asked that my prescription be sent to the pharmacy and I received my discharge papers. Leave the hospital after 8, called the pharmacy a little before closing and was advised they had not received the request. So I decided to wait until the next day to check the status. Called the pharmacy again, still no prescription. Called the hospital and reached Zoe who stated she was assisting patients and to give her a couple of hours. Waited until the end of the day and called the pharmacy back..still no medication! I am really baffled for someone to come in for breathing problems and wait almost 6 hours to see someone, then placed in the room for an accumulation of almost two hours before I saw the doctor. There is no sense of urgency here. Like I came for help, not to just lay up in your bed and worst I never got the medicine! Rockdale use to be very reputable, I had two of my kids there and gave awesome reviews, but now I would definitely double think before going or suggesting for anyone to go. Also after sharing my experience with others, I do know someone that has a current very serious lawsuit against this location in particular. Please be very mindful before going. Just waiting now to get this high bill for absolutely no help! I left feeling the same way I walked in. It might be worth it to take the longer drive to a better facility, I know I wish I did.
