My husband + I were in a serious car accident Dec. 7th. We were very lucky to walk away with bumps and bruises aside from me breaking my nose. My care in the ER was exceptional. My nurse, Maddie H. and the rest of the team were so caring and made sure I was comfortable. I want to recognize Maddie though, she went above and beyond. I told her I was on my way to take photos with Santa when the accident happened, I asked her to please not cut my dress off. Instead, she helped me wiggle out of it to save it. Two weeks went by and right before Christmas I received a card in the mail from Maddie. It was just such a thoughtful gesture, but it really got me because she remembered the things we had talked about! She was very comforting, I even told my husband I wish she was my friend! The little things matter + she helped keep me calm after the accident. It meant a lot! My whole team was excellent.

Where to start. Diagnosed my end stage lung cancer step father with bronchitis in 2016, to a few years later I was pregnant and had poison ivy. The nurse gave me way too much Benadryl for my size, my heart began pounding, I lost my vision, and couldn't breathe. Nurses only response was to check my blood pressure over and over again while I blacked out. Eventually I came to and left immediately. Then a third time I took my mom and baby in the ER for a sick visit. We were put on a dirty bed in the hallway right next to a patient coughing his head off. Within two to three days my mom, newborn, and I all had covid for the first time. Then a CP patient I knew had a stint put in and got a severe blood infection due to dirty operating tools. Google your symptoms treat yourself and refrain from exposing your immune system to a very dirty hospital. All three times they messed up and the consequences kept getting more and more scary. Go to St Mary's in Athens!!!!!!! I learned my lesson three times don't put your health at risk

I avoid leaving negative reviews, but I felt it was necessary to share my experience. I brought my elderly mother to this facility because she was having very bad pain from a kidney stone, and it turned out to be one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. Next time, I will make the drive to Decatur or another hospital to avoid returning here. They allowed an elderly woman in excruciating pain, shaking uncontrollably from the pain, with a BP of 190/90 from the pain, sit in the waiting room for 5 hours before taking her back. And to top it off, she got the flu from her visit so yea, they left a lasting impression on us.
I am blown away by the responses to these negative reviews by Piedmont. “Patient care is our top priority” REALLY? Someone that cares about their patients would not leave an elderly woman in a hypertensive crisis due to pain sit in the waiting room with no pain relief for 5 hours. Please do not go to this ER unless there is just no other choice.

Only experienced the er , the staff is nice and seem efficient and very hardworking. I honestly feel sorry for the employees. The conditions of the hospital er are terrible. It is rundown , dirty, way too small, under staffed. The people waiting in the waiting area make you feel like you are going to leave sicker then when you came in. It needs a major overhaul. It’s a shame that the billions Piedmont made with the COVID scam that they can’t give this place a makeover. I feel like I’m in a third world country here.

Never seen someone in so much pain being told there is nothing they can do. Then discharging the patient especially being a child. Our healthcare is garbage and anything with Piedmont in it is the devil. I’m sure they will have no problem sending us separate bills for everything an every contractor we seen. I don’t understand why or how they show up to be such a failure everyday without trying to make a change.

Called me last Wednesday...i called back Thursday and Friday....NOTHING not a word....UPDATE: NEVER RECEIVED THE CALL AS I SIT IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL GETTING CARE....They need to revisit their oath at this place...Went to the ER with shortness of breath at 5am two days ago. First the nurse had to poke me twice and then use the ultrasound machine to finish the stick.( never had this issues before) Then drew vials of blood. Then hooked me up for a EKG after a chest x-ray. Dr came in I let the nurse and the Dr. Young Chai both know I had pneumonia and irregular blood work 3 months ago as well and I was seen there.. Dr stayed all of about two minutes I called back since was following up with my PCP today wondering why only thing to show up was one chest x-ray!!? They threw my blood away and never did the EKG!! Even with a pulse of 100 and up the entire time!! My words..ONLY SEND YOUR EMENIES THERE!!! VERY POOR HEALTHCARE AND NONE CARING!

The ER is horrible I thought it had cleaned up nicely the least time I was here but my visit tonight is horrific the lobby is disgusting with trash everywhere. I understand that there other patients but I've only been seen by triage, one nurse, and CT techs no doctor and I came in with a head injury which is fine I get it there are other people but when I was seen I felt rushed with hardly anyone in the ER. Again thought this place had cleaned up its act but I guess not.
