I had an outstanding experience with Dr Choi and his staff and felt led to write this testimonial. After looking at my Lumbar Spine MRI, Dr Choi said to me, "Well, the good news is we can fix your spine, but the bad news is it will require surgery". He gave me a brief explanation of the surgery that he would be performing and sent me home with a book "Preparing for Spinal Surgery". The surgery I would be having was an L4/L5/S1 posterior spinal fusion. Dr Choi recommended that I think about whether I wanted to have surgery or not. After reading the details of the procedure in the book and the results that I should expect following surgery, I confidently decided to have surgery. I should mention that we were at least 3 months into the COVID epidemic at this time. Two members of Dr Choi's staff managed to get me scheduled and ready for surgery in 5 days time. That was incredible in itself.
Jumping ahead to waking up in my hospital room following surgery, I was amazed at how well I was feeling. Because I was experiencing so little discomfort, I was taken off of narcotics within 24 hours post-op and was up walking the ICU halls the day after surgery. I was discharged the following day and was sent home with Tylenol for pain and a prescription for a stronger pain med if needed. I didn't, need it, that is. My recovery from surgery was so remarkable that I have to describe it as being "an easy surgery" despite it being a major surgical procedure. Dr Choi's surgery took me from pre-surgery "holding my breath" pain to no pain at all. It is now 6 weeks post-op and after seeing Dr Choi with my new lumbar spine X-rays, I was told that the fusion with the bone graft looked so good that I wouldn't even have to return for another follow-up appointment with him unless I start experiencing any difficulties. I won't (experience any difficulties). Dr Choi did an amazing repair on my spine and I'll be resuming normal activities following physical therapy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr Choi for spinal surgery. I wouldn't think twice about seeing him again if need be for something else. He's an incredible surgeon.
P.S. I forgot to mention that I find Dr Choi's staff VERY competent, VERY knowledgable, VERY attentive and helpful and VERY well organized. I ALWAYS had my calls answered and ALWAYS had any questions or concerns resolved by the end of the day. I LOVE Dr Choi's staff. Anne

I am the daughter of one of Dr. Choi's patients and want to share my words of appreciation for Dr. Choi and Precision Spine in Colorado. My 81 yo mother had surgery for cervical radiculopathy after months of high pain levels and severe disruption in her functioning. Her surgery and recovery have been highly successful! She no longer has pain, the numbness is slowly resolving in her fingers, she is off her pain meds and has resumed her daily long walks. Dr. Choi was highly educative about her surgery prior to the procedure and has a comforting, confidence about him that put my mother at ease. Beyond this, communication wtih Dr. Choi's office staff was stellar. I want to give a special shout out to Dr. Choi's medical assistant, Diana, who interacted with my mom many times and helped me complete needed FMLA paperwork to care post-surgery. I also work in the medical field and it is RARE to find a medical assistant so competent, communicative, efficient --and with such a lovely demeanor! It was a pleasure to interact with her. I had to bother her a number of times about various things and she could not have been more accommodating. I will not claim to have used Dr. Choi's PT clinic or his associates. I will also not tell you that his staff is ultra organized... BUT I will tell you that he is a fantastic surgeon, talented, and professional, and has done a world of good for me. He is not a chatty person and will not visit with you about your family, but he is honest and practical in his advice and was very clear about his diagnosis and my surgery.... I had a very complex situation in my upper spine and he did a marvelous job for me. As far as I am concerned he is worth the wait.. yes,I had to wait to have my surgery (he's a busy man) and I made some effort to make appointments but it was well worth it. A good investment of my time and energy.

Best Medical Experience of my life. I avoided this fusion for 7 years because of horror stories. I had lost a great deal of the quality of my life due to back pain. He was referred to me by my physical therapist because his patients just healed faster. I met him and he took the time to explain everything. I decided that he was my Doctor. The nurse that checked me in for surgery called him "Dr. Amazing." The surgery was great, not painless, its back surgery. However, I was off pain meds at 2 weeks. People who know I had back surgery are suspect when they see me - they are sure I didn't have a double fusion. I had my L4-S1 fused and it is doing great!!

When you think there is no hope and the pain is too much to bear, stop and remember that things can change. I was in that same situation and my neighbor referred me to Dr. Choi, who had done surgery on him and twice on his father.

The minute I met Dr. Choi I knew my almost two years of suffering was coming to an end.

The best advice I can offer is when you first see Dr. Choi have your questions ready, because he wants your experience with him to be the most successful and stress free as possible. He wants you to be satisfied before you move forward. I'm 67 years old and this was the first surgery I ever had so you can imagine how apprehensive I was.

I don't what he does to motivate his office staff, but it works. I have never had a bad experience with any member of his staff. And Marshon Jones the NP was great with follow ups, and when he showed up in the hospital at 5AM to check on me, I could finally see some light and some future in my life.

When my daughter-in-law who is a surgical technician at Parker Adventist Hospital told me that Dr Choi heads up a non-profit clinic that goes to foreign countries and offers his services for free to underprivileged people, I knew I found the right Doctor that really cared about people. I was so impressed that I plan to volunteer for his non-profit clinic so I can give back as well. I'm just so happy to be back to my normal self, and so are my wife and sons. THANK YOU DR. CHOI!!
