I wrote my review down below and in response received a letter saying they would no longer be my doctor. I had higher hopes for this practice.

I have been going to this office for a few years and have only stayed because Dr. Prosseda is really wonderful. She is super helpful, none judgmental, honest, and informative. I have had so many issues with the front desk. They don’t call back if you ask them to check on something and trying to see if a referral has been sent out has been a nightmare. I called 72 hours in advance of my appointment for a referral when they only ask for 48 hours. When I called back to check on it and they told me it hadn’t been sent out. I was rudely told that “I hadn’t been there in almost a year” when I had last been in 9 months ago and they wouldn’t send it. If I hadn’t doubled checked on it I would have gone to my specialist appointment thinking it had been sent out and been charged hundreds of dollars due to their mistake. Between this and the fact that last year I was almost unable to get a much needed surgery due to their problems with communication and referral process I was about to leave the practice. When I called back to tell them I had moved my specialist appointment to give us more time to get this figured out I spoke to Maureen. She was beyond helpful, informative, and respectful. My referral got sent out no problem. They should hire more front desk staff like her! I will probably stay with the practice now because I do love Dr. Prosseda and Maureen has given me some hope that their front desk might be more polite and helpful to their clients moving forward.

The biggest issue I have with this practice is some of the front desk staff. One staff member in particular is quite unpleasant to speak with, and cuts me off in the middle of a sentence every time I call. My phone call today was regarding medical files that had been incorrectly scanned and then emailed to me. I called because a couple of the pages were missing, and the staff member was very dismissive and did not attempt to help me when I found out that the files were gone because they had been shredded. I know mistakes happen, but she should have attempted to help me with this matter as the error was on their end.
I called a second time because this was an important document, and the second staff member I spoke with was helpful and forwarded my call to someone that was able to help me.

Dr. Schaeffer is very kind, caring, and responsive. On multiple occasions we have contacted him directly during non-office hours and he has always promptly responded, and continued to stay engaged until the issue was resolved. The front desk staff is also very friendly and quickly schedules appointments when needed, usually within 24 hours of calling the office. We love having Dr. Schaeffer as our family doctor.

Dr. Prosseda is amazing, I’m 24 now and I’ve been with her since I was like 8. Front desk is much better, helpful, quick, and kind.

First time coming it was pleasant at the front desk than the assistant came out to get me and my child (2 years old) The assistant was rude and just not friendly at all , she honestly made the visit horrible for us. She was the heavier, African american girl with dreads.. I believe her name was Laquita. I work in the medical field and i believe you greet your patients with a smile … she never once cracked a smile or wanted to be friendly. The only reason I’ll be coming back is for Sherry and Holly !

Nice building, easy to navigate with lots of parking options. Inside space was great, nice art work and clean restrooms.

This doctors office has always been great. I have never had a hard time getting in with my doctor or one of the NP's. When I call I may have to wait for a minute or two but they usually don't put me on hold. The front desk staff has been much better and so pleasant since they got a new front desk manager a few years ago. Keep up the great work!

For years I have been annoyed by the dismissive and unresponsive nature of this practice, including the difficulty of getting anyone in the phone, the calls not returned, the failure of my practitioner to answer my questions. Another friend recommended a different physician within Stoney Batter, but when I called to ask about changing to this recommended person, I was told it wasn’t allowed. A few days later I received a letter stating I was being dropped from the practice and that I had 30 days to find a new doctor’s office. Fine - I already signed up with someone else, who at least answers their phones and returns calls. Already a step up - bye, Felicia.
