First of all please get more caring and compassionate Doctors who treat patients fairly as individuals basically a doctor that is not like Dr. Justin C Dewillers. This emergency room is the actual worst place to go if you have a chronic illness that requires pain management. As someone with sickle Cell I’ve gone here out of desperation because they are closest to me but I’ve given up and started taking the drive out to Grady in Atlanta.
Whenever I’ve been inpatient here I’ve spent too much time and energy pleading with the doctors to treat and manage my pain appropriately. The last time I was there they refused to give me the iv med that works best for me and wanted to give me something that I told them I have a bad reaction to. Dr. Justin C Dewillers refused to give me the medication I told Him works best for my pain for no real reason apart from that’s what he felt like doing?! He told me he’ll simply give me MORE MEDICATION to treat the side effects of the bad reaction I get from the IV med he wanted to give me.
I eventually left although it was 3am and I was in terrible crisis pain. Dr. Justin C Dewillers refused to transfer me in an ambulance so I had to call an uber with an oxygen level as low as 85.
If you have Sickle Cell please do not go to this place. They will treat you terribly as a drug seeker and I’m sure it’s racially motivated because SS is a “black person disease”. You’re better off taking the trip out to Grady sickle cell center. They will treat you so well there.
If I could give Zero stars I probably would. I did only gave 1 stars because the facility is fairly clean and nice and the nurses are great. Unfortunately the nurses can’t do much without the doctors approval so their hands are tied.
And don’t bother reporting anything to patient advocate as they also don’t do much of anything to help. The doctors are independent Contractors and can basically do whatever they want. No repercussions so why have p

Tanner ER in Villa Rica is hands down the BEST!!! They are clean, neat, and organized. All the staff are very kind, hard working, caring, and funny. They helped me out very much when I came in then again when I had to go back due to an allergic reaction to the antibiotics the were on top of it and took very good care of me. Very greatful for them!!!

Terrible service. Walked in the ER because my husband was brought in by ambulance. The receptionist had a stick up her rear end and made sure to show how much she hates her job by giving me an attitude when I asked if my husband was in yet. We were there for an hour before someone came to see him. They did a scan and said okay, you're fine. We will give you meds then discharged you. At the 4 hour mark, they came back to give meds and left again. Another hour later they finally came back to let us go. All this while NO ONE was in the ER waiting and all the nurses and doctors were just chilling at the nurses station. Thank god he wasn't dying or anything time sensitive. Also, the machines in his room kept sending off an alarm saying they weren't working. This alarm went off every 2 minutes. After us listening to it for 45 minutes (with no one even checking in on the room) I finally asked and they told me to keep hitting a button to mute it when it goes off again. No solution to fix the machines. Just mute it.

The worst medical decision making I've ever seen. My mother is 85 years old, with dementia, during this visit she was diagnosed with diverticulitis via an abdominal/pelvic CT. The abdominal/pelvic CT results ALSO showed trace bilateral effusions which is the presence of fluid buildup in the pleural space between the lungs and chest wall on both sides of the chest along with mild focal tree-in-bud nodularity in the left lower lobe, FAVORED TO BE INFECTIOUS/INFLAMMATORY. Dr Hundley did not order a chest x-ray and described Mom as well appearing, well nourished, in no acute distress. He described her abdomen as diffuse tenderness, and no guarding, no rebound, no masses. There absolutely was guarding and my sister and I witnessed the guarding. Mom was taken to Kennestone and had a partially collapsed lung, diverticulitis and C-Diff, a serious bacterial infection according to another doctor at Kennestone that it was probably caused by the "incomplete treatment". Dr H. has written in his notes that we were in agreement with her discharge and we were NOT and voiced our opinion. I stressed to Dr Hundley that I am much younger than Mom and was admitted to the hospital when I had diverticulitis and he said Mom's wasn't "complicated" I explained that mine wasn't either . . . then he mentioned a shortage of fluids due to the hurricane in North Carolina and we discussed the Baxter facility which manufactures the fluids. Dr Hundley did not complete the necessary testing to confirm any underlying conditions or further investigate other issues from the CT result and the blood labs. Extremely disappointed at such grossly medical decision making which has resulted in the serious condition my mother is now experiencing at 85 years old with dementia. I also left a VM with the hospital regarding this inadequate treatment and no one has returned my call. In my opinion, THIS is a failure across the board.

I came into the ER with a 104 fever and had not been able to keep anything down for almost 24hrs. After a few very surface tests and an IV bag of fluids the doctor declared that there was nothing he could do and that I should just go home and rest up. He did not want to hear that I was struggling to breathe. He did not care that I was delirious with fever. In fact, when I expressed concern about being able to keep down Tylenol he said "well, do you really have to? You can survive a 104 fever." There was zero compassion to his care nor was there any thought put into it.

A fee fays later I was admitted to a Wellstar with severe double pneumonia that was beginning to go septic. He could have caught and treated that. He could have listened to me and ordered an xray. Instead he chose to not care and gamble with my life.

This was honestly the best experience I have had at an emergency room. They got me in very quickly, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. A nurse brought me a heated blanket cause she noticed I was covering up with me blanket. The test came back with in 3 hours and Dr Nicholas was extremely informative and nice.

I’ve come to understand that Emergency Departments just never provide quality care. I’m not sure what that’s about but it’s just always true in my experience. As a parent, my child’s health and safety is always my top priority. Sadly, even though these visits cost thousands upon thousands of dollars they can never be bothered to do anything but try to kick you out as soon as possible. My toddler was sick for an entire week and when I started to worry he was going to start experiencing febrile seizures we decided to take him to the ER. Now you know their favorite thing is to act like they just need to give you Tylenol right? Well because they were able to see some of the records from his most recent visit with the pediatrician, they entertained my plea to run some of the tests that I asked. Nevertheless, we were sent home with a child that had been running a fever for a week being told it was “normal”. Cut to us finding out he had a rare, severe tonsil infection. That’s normal? Ok. Looking back, the nurse that checked his throat said they were large. But then never commented on it again or had anyone look at his throat. I guess this doesn’t surprise me considering she couldn’t take my kid’s temperature without stabbing him in the mouth so hard that he was terrified the rest of the visit. Oh and the comments about there never being rooms just “hall beds” is somehow always true because I’ve been told that by other people and that was our experience as well. Not sure how exactly that’s possible when everyone sits around. Maybe everyone is just waiting for lab work back at the exact same time? Maybe. Great job Tanner. Your ER staff is something special.
