The Oaks

My mother was in The Oaks-Scenic View early 2024 for three months to receive Physical and Occupational Therapy. They were very attentive and caring. When she needed to go back to a nursing facility in October 2024 there was no question as to where I wanted her to go. I am well pleased with her care. The Nurses are awesome as well as the CNA's.

I wondered when researching why the reviews were so mixed, from excellent to awful. I believe the nurses are skilled, and care about the patient. The PT, my husband had a wonderful young lady that pushed him, that is what he needed. The rehab side is clean and very busy, I can't speak to their care because he was on "the overflow" side. The nursing home side has four overflow rooms, behind two very heavy, and locked doors unless you know the code. His nurses could not hear him if he had a need. Ultimately, Eric had adequate care, and a great Physical Therapist.

The inpatient rehab area of the facility is very nice. After having to walk through the nursing home section I began to have doubts. Going through the doors to rehab is like night and day. Rooms, common areas , rehab facility are like new. The rehab staff (admin, nurses, CNAs) is very caring. The therapists are well trained, professional and passionate about what they do. I would have loved for my wife to have had more therapy than average 30 min 5 days per week. Overall the therapists have genuine concern and compassion for patients. My wife broke her hip and was in rehab for more than seven weeks. Her recovery was complicated by Parkinson’s and dementia. While she is unable to walk she is gaining strength in her legs and feet. Our thanks and love to those special people that made her stay better. You know who you are!

They are very kind to the patients very attentive always checking on them. I am very satisfied with their care. I would recommend the oaks to anyone that needs care for their loved ones.

Oh my word...I cannot believe this place has a four star rating ?. I wouldn't let this place watch my build a bear...It smells to high heaven. The place is old and definitely needs remodeling. The Pruitt family should be ashamed to have there name associated with this facility. PT is a joke. They have a great intake staff. They will make so many promises for the quality care there going to provide. IT'S ALL TALK.. Most of the aides where nice and doing the best they can, but there over worked and under paid...Pruitt Baldwin DO BETTER...KARMA PEOPLE KARMA!!

The workers are very nice, and the facility is also nice. However, the communication and focus on rehab is very poor. No one seems to know any answers to questions, we have PT coming to the room while my mother is in dialysis, people say they are coming back to do something, then they don’t come back for several hours. After 13 days my mother has had less than 4 to 5 hours of PT. It is obvious that the facility is understaffed, especially at night. And there appears to be no urgency to help rehabilitate the patients and get them back to their lives. That is the primary goal of this facility! We chose the facility, even though it is farther away, because of the 5 star rating. I am very disappointed.

Poor management, poor staff that doesn’t put residents first when it comes to medications. Constant negligence and poor staff retention. Descent people get fired for not accepting bullying and unfair treatment. Management will cover up the screw ups and accept mediocre workmanship. Management does not care about the staff or the residents due to their poor skills.I would not place my family members here if they were still alive. I’ve had friends send members here and I hope they’re visiting on a regular. Don’t bother asking the Lpns for help, they’re lazy and will have you doing their job with their signatures. Poor communication and will be on a power trip gossiping about staff and family.

Great facility for my grandmother. She was well taken care of and the staff was always nice! Everyone was so accommodating even when busy. She was in rehab there before being released...they worked with her and did a great job! Wish they would've done a little more rehab but other than that they were great!
