My name is Gail Marsh. I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer and didn't have a doctor in mind. I prayed to find the best surgeon that specializes in breast cancer in Polk County, Florida. I found Dr. Vanessa Prowler at the Hollis Cancer Center in Lakeland, Florida.

She is a highly skilled surgeon. Dr. Prowler loves her work and is very compassionate and caring. She calmed all my fears. I highly recommend Dr. Prowler and will stay with her for any future concerns.

Dr. Prowler is a remarkable surgeon; she did a beautiful with my breast lumpectomy surgery. I had a previous lumpectomy w another surgeon for a much smaller tumor that left a large divet. She took a very large section of my breast and repaired the prior area while reshaping the breast to look normal and similar to the other. I was truly amazed. She is also caring and explained everything w no rush. Can't recommend her enough.

She took care of my mother when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr Prowler has a way of speaking in a calm soothing voice that eases your fears. She takes her time and answers ALL questions from patient and family. I went to her after my PCP scheduled me with a watson clinic breast surgeon sayinghe recommended them. Haha That office called to reschedule 1,2, and on 3rd time I said, "No, I am going to Dr Prowler! What if I had an aggressive cancer? That office didn't care. However, I was in Dr Prowlers office the next week! I recommend her skill and knowledge to anyone needing breast cancer consultation or surgery period. She says your breast should look as close to before and after surgery atleast that is her goal! Don't waste time call her office!!

Dr. Prowler is an amazing talented woman. Thanks to her and her team my breast cancer was caught early enough and was treated extremely fast. She performed my lumpectomy and mascetomy. Her work was amazing. Dr. Prowler's care and concern for me made me feel extremely well cared for. No one wants to go thru this but with her as your care team it makes it easier and calming. This Dr obviously doesn’t value life. She is a aggressive driver which I encountered her within 50 feet of her office. I can just imagine how she treats her staff because she honked so many times even though we did not have the right away and plus there was a big truck which I could not see over to make sure the road was clear. My 6 yr old son was in the car and she was even entitled to go around/cut me off just to get through. This is sad reality that certain people think they can do whatever they wish. What has happened your compassion? To end this note I would never trust or encourage anyone to seek help from this lady that works with breast cancer patients. Which entails someone with a sensitive and empathic heart.Do better.

I was a patient of Dr Prowler for a preventative double mastectomy due to brca1 mutation. Since the first time I met Dr. Prowler, I always felt she is very empathetic with her patients. She always has a kind smile! During my first appointment with her, she made sure I was informed about the procedure I would be having and the risk of my genetic mutation. I was able to get my surgeries done fairly quickly, which I appreciated since I had to travel 2 hours to go to her office. I’m very grateful for her, her team, Lakeland regional hospital and dr. Straughan!

Dr. Prowler is a wonderful doctor. She is kind, thoughtful, and very thorough. She explains clearly. I would recommend her to anyone going through anything that has to do with breast oncology.
