I gave 3 stars only because many years ago, my daughter was a patient of Dr. Wentz and we loved him and his staff. This time the braces were for my grandson who was about 14 when he was first seen. My daughter and I share his care. I paid out of pocket for my daughter's braces (she had to have them twice) but this time Medicaid paid. Because of his age, closeness to his school and closeness to my Office, I would drop him off for treatments. He's not a perfect kid but I admit, most places love him. Voted nicest kid in his elementary class by the other kids, and all of his teachers and staff seem to like him at his high school and the summer camp he works at. His mother and I made sure he brushed saw the dentist regularly etc. He got less compliant and more defensive about having to go for treatments as time went on. Finally, I went in with him. The Receptionist was always nice so I wanted to see what was up. When the "tech"? came to get him, there was no greeting and in fact the first words to come out of her mouth to him were "you coming back"? while nodding her head toward the back. Don't think she knew we were together. I waited a minute and then followed him back. I asked her if she didn't like him? She was flustered and said "no, of course I do". Sure. Dr. Wentz came over, they had decided he no longer needed braces etc and wanted to remove them. Dr. Wentz said to him, "You're what, 18? You should be able to decide this on your own" I explained that he was a freshman and 15 and that we were still "in charge of his care". I still don't know what he did to make them not like him or if it was because he was indigenous or what but I no longer recommend them as I have done for the past 20 or so years. They had complained about his compliance, even when he had just been to his dentist who complimented him on his teeth and lack of cavities.

Dr. Wentz and his staff are all wonderful. They explained everything very clearly to my daughter in a way that she could understand. This helped motivate her to do her part and not complain. The office is always clean and inviting. The staff are always polite, professional and personable. I would recommend Dr. Wentz to anyone looking for an orthodontist.

Both of our children have gone to Dr. Wentz for orthodontics. With early-age visits (kindergarten and first grade age) a treatment plan was developed that saved us a lot of money and lessened the amount of time they needed to wear braces. Dr. Wentz and the staff are very professional as well as friendly. The spacious office and setup is a well designed and comfortable place for patients and staff. To be honest, it's fun to visit there. I highly recommend Dr. Wentz as the place to find excellent and professional orthodontic care.

The staff at Dr. Wentz is superb. They acknowledge us as we come in the door and say they have us checked in. There is coffee and cookies waiting for those who desire. They see us quickly, no longer than 10-15 minutes on a busy day. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Dr. Wentz is great in addressing progress and gives out compliments; just a pleasure to work with.
I'd recommend anyone with Orthodontic concern to come see this office. They don't disappoint, the outcome is outstanding! Thank you for my daughter's lovely smile!

Excellent customer service and family-friendly atmosphere. Dr. Wentz and his team make each visit special for our children. Dr. Wentz & team are thorough and I never feel like our daughter is receiving unnecessary orthodontic treatment, and because of that, I feel like Wentz orthodontics has our family's best interests in mind.

I am 52 years old and had to have braces again just to have some cosmetic work done. Dr. Wentz and his staff are amazing. They worked with me (I do not live in Fairbanks), always made me feel comfortable, and got the work done in the year they said it would take! I actually looked forward to my appointments in this office! I now have a beautiful new smile!!!

Will update with more details, I have plenty from a year and a half. DO NOT GO TO WENTZ ORTHODONTICS. I went because there are few options in town, I regretted it early on. Money grabbing, poor customer service, get any conversations with their staff in writing!
Dr. Wentz has too many patients he’s taking money from and visits with him are very impersonal, also you will be passed around between other doctors with different treatment techniques each appointment, I rarely saw Dr. Wentz himself. They glued my braces on poorly, I broke a bracket flossing and when I went in to get it fixed, they broke two more off in the process of fixing. Extremely painful. The front office staff were rude before COVID started and since it has been much worse. They act like it’s an inconvenience each time you speak with them and rush to get you off the phone or out of the office because they are too busy. When getting braces off I was shoved a paper and told to sign it without being given time to read through it because she was trying to rush me out of the front so she could bring in the next patient. I know not to sign things without reading them but trusted their staff wouldn’t screw me over! They are across the board projecting their COVID stress on patients and unprofessional. I was told repeatedly that I would be getting a refund since my braces were off early. Nope, they never contacted me as I was promised multiple times, when I finally hunted them down now I owe more money! but they gave me a discount because of their mistake and told me that should make me happy. Nope.

I highly recommend Jessica Woller at Fairbanks Orthodontic Group, unfortunately I met her after I started the fiasco with Dr. Wentz.

Every time I walk in the door I am greeted by name. The staff a Wentz Orthodontics goes out of their way to make sure that every visit is perfect. All treatment is explained in full and if I have any questions they take the extra time to make sure I don't leave wondering.
