Do your research! Really...Understand what you're getting yourself into by choosing this office. Let the waiting begin! This office only cares about one thing...MONEY! That's right folks! Your insurance money. Great customer service is based on how good your insurance is willing to payout. The level of customer service you expect to come with the product they are trying to get you to buy is absolutely deplorable! The office consistently cancels appointments, after canceled appointments! Periods of long waiting for returning phone calls. Most of the time you never get your phone call returned. You; the patient has to take time out of your schedule to call them consistently on the daily just to get an answer from the office staff. Hearing the words, 'I don't know' & 'I can't get you that information right now' is normal thing. Absolute inconsistency in the level of customer service you will receive from day one. Get ready for long periods of time, waiting week after week just to get a response or any information from the office.

I love this place. Doctor and staff really cares and listens to you. I've had nothing but great experiences here. Best decision I’ve made. My coordinator was amazing thank you so much Elizabeth for going above and beyond. Extremely amazing and best life making decisions I’ve made. Nothing but great experiences plus great fast recovery. This office does NOT respect anyone's time. And the lady at the patient check in is the most rude obnoxious person ever. Have had to deal with her several times before.
I'm now a post op patient and this office is still on some nonsense.
The doctors have been nice. But the staff is terrible.
I'm 7 weeks post op and haven't been seen since 2 weeks post op. Because they refused to get me scheduled. They when they did, they didn't tell me it was video. So I showed up in person. Been waiting more than a half hour. Per usual. Smh. The lady in the front has been rude and snarky. Now tells me the provider is running late, but forbid I'm ever late. I can't be late but they can continously not call me back for 1 hour to 2 hours after appt times etc. Like I said it's happened before.
I'm beyond OVER it. Not even sure the doctors know how awful their staff is. Or if they even care.

Dr Krahn, changed my life. I had the gastric sleeve in august of 2021 and lost 200 pounds since then. Dr Krahn was very intelligent and caring. I would recommend him to anyone.

**** Do research before having surgery****
Im one month post op, i do not regret my surgery i regret doing it with this office. Communication between staff is horrible. Each and everyone of them will tell you different things on do’s and donts. They also give you classes and pretty much make you want to buy there vitamins for $120, for something they dont know if you will tolerate it. Plus no refunds! Smh! Not only that they charge you for the certificate for dr to sign for disability $35 dollars illegal, if medical is covering your procedure it should not be more then $25. (Check with your insurance) to Top it off they always say go by the book but book says other wise needs to be updated!! . Makes no sense. Not only that phones are never answered and if they are always on hold for long.
Neraida the girl thats always at check in has an attitude, you ask some questions and make you seem like if your dumb about the procedure.
Moral of this DO YOUR RESEARCH. Do not over buy things you dont! Your new stomach wont tolerate much. Wait til after your first visit and buy small quantities!!!

The Doctors are the best. However since they have moved their billing department to an outside agency I have had the hardest time getting my refund. They charge $2000 for a non covered provider but don’t actually follow up with the insurance so they can pay the claim. An assistant surgeon does not get paid the same as a surgeon. The only time anything has been done to get my claim paid is when I follow up. My claim got denied for timely filing and then they billed my insurance for 3 procedures I didn’t have. I brought the issue up to the office manager and she was even confused on what they are doing. My insurance paid for the assistant surgeon and I only owe about $200 and they refuse to refund my deposit. Any patient with a PPO plan please stay on top of your insurance claims, as I know I am not the only one this has happened too. Sending another email tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Recently had my surgery, roughly two months ago. I had the gastric sleeve. Best decision of my life! I highly recommend Western Bariatric. My Surgeon was Dr. Martin, he is a very friendly man!

Only complaints I had was how long it took for the procedure to take place, staff were very friendly, nurses always answer your questions, and overall the office and hospital was very organized and clean.

The second complaint was that I had been charged without consent for something my insurance had covered fully. I highly recommend talking with your insurance provider first and primary care doctor second. My insurance helped me figure the charge out and it was dropped but some may not be as fortunate as me, and may still be charged. Please do keep an eye out!

Aside from those complaints, the place was amazing and I owe them my life for how well they treated my case! Thank you staff and nurses over at Western Bariatric!

Dr. David Bernstein is a great doctor, he communicates well with his patients before and after surgery, Very kind and compassionate. Highly recommend him and thank him for a life changing surgery.
