Went to see Dr. Hornback for double hernia operation. His diagnosis was correct, yet he advised me that I need two separate surgeries on different dates. With each surgery costing $20,000 +, my pay share was 20%, because it was out of network. After due diligence on Dr. Hornback, I discovered that he had at least four malpractice filed against him. I went to see a well know specialist in Macon. Same diagnosis, yet he would repair both hernias at same time. He stated that was stupid to have two separate surgeries, and two recoveries. My in network cost for operation was $380. It would have cost about $8000 at Tiff Regional Hospital.

I also would leave zero stars for Hornback. Will not refer to him as a Doctor. I personally witnessed several lies from him and have supporting records and proof that he let my family member stay overnight at the hospital with an NG tube in her nose placed there by another hospital because she had a ruptured appendix. He although did not instruct nurses to plug the NG tube back in upon arrival to pump out the bile and infection that was in her on stomach due to the rupture. When he finally decided to show up in the morning for surgery he denied knowing anything about her or her records which is also lies because I have a signed record stating that the doctor where she was transported from spoke with Hornback before she was transported. I wish I could tell the entire story but it’s too long. Long story short, he did “exploratory” surgery and denies the ruptured appendix but there are records to prove it was. She came out of surgery with a colostomy bag where they’re not supposed to be placed and now has a huge hernia that he refuses to fix and has dropped her as a patient. In my opinion he made a mess that he can’t fix so he passed the buck, ruining her life, livelihood and scarring her body unnecessarily.

He is an awesome Dr. He has the best bed side manner. He is very up front and honest. He told me what he could do to fix me and he done exactly what he told me. I will always refer him to anyone that needs a surgery like i did. Thanks Dr. Hornback. And his staff are the most caring and compassionate people you could ever meet. Thanks!!!!

WOULD GIVE A ZERO STAR. Did a gallbladder removal and was discharged from hospital after continued complaints of shortness of breath and pain. One week later collapsed and was admitted to Savannah GA for a bile leakage from surgery. Called his office and talked to office manager to update on condition. Never has called to check or follow up to see what happened as the result of his negligence. Never reached out the the physicians at St. Joseph's to see what was going on. However, we do highly recommend other surgeons in this practice. Unfortunately Dr. Hornback is doesn't have the compassion or concern for any patient after surgery. Since this has occurs, we have heard similar stories with the same outcome. Hope this review will guide others to stay clear of him.

I saw Dr. Nolan. She was very nice and had a great bed side manner. So did her nurse practitioner. I felt very comfortable with them. My grandmother saw Dr. Hornback for two surgeries and he was wonderful with her and the family, very considerate and kind. Also a very talented surgeon. The desk clerks were very nice also. All the staff I saw today was great. Office was clean and very nice.

I would give 0 stars if allowed. I'm currently on day 2 post op femoral hernia repair. This was explained to me by Dr. Hornback to be a laparoscopic procedure. I've underwent laparoscopy before so I thought I knew what to expect. This is not, by any definition, any laparoscopic surgery I've ever been through or seen on any other person. I've been cut 4 times in my abdomen. With cuts ranging from 3" to 1" long. None any smaller. . Definitely not the small incisions you expect with laparoscopy. My original complaint was groin pain from a swollen lymph node. Within minutes of our first and only office visit, he quickly decided my symptoms were consistent with a femoral hernia but, because of my concern with abnormal bloodwork and lymph node pain, assured me he would investigate the lymph nodes while he was doing the procedure. I'd been having pain and abnormal bloodwork for over a year so I was eager to find out what was going on. On the day of surgery, he stopped by the doorway of my the preop room for approximately a minute. He said good morning and asked if I was ready for the procedure. I said that I was and reminded him to please check my lymph nodes while he was doing the surgery. He quickly said he would "if" they were visible. (After all, it was my lymph node that prompted my referral.) At that point, my concern started. He was off like a flash and I haven't spoken to him since. None of my family was consulted about what went on during the procedure nor did he ever come to the recovery room to see me post op. I awoke to extreme pain and huge incisions. The nightmare did not end there. I was sent home with 5mg hydrocodone for pain. I do see a pain management doctor for other issues and could not get the prescription filled due to new opioid restrictions that most pharmacies have in place. Since I have a prescription for three 7.5mg hydrocodone a day, 3 pharmacies would not fill my prescription and told me that I would need another painkiller that was not in the hydrocodone family in order to fill the prescription. I promptly called Dr. Hornback's office the next morning (yesterday), along with calling my pain management doctor, to let them know what was going on. Dr. Hornback refused to prescribe me anything stronger than 7.5 hydrocodone, which did not solve my problem. I requested even 5mg Percocet and was told he would NOT prescribe anything but the 7.5 hydrocodone. My pain management doctor promptly ok'd my prescription but was concerned that my pain was not being treated properly or controlled. Dr. Hornback's office even advised me to over take my meds from pain management to control my pain. Which is a sure fire way to get dismissed from pain management. After terrible pain, frustration, anxiety, having to take back the original prescription and pick up the 7.5 hydrocodone prescription (not even 24 hours after leaving the hospital after surgery, no less) I finally found a pharmacy that talked with both Dr. Hornback's office and my pain management doctor and filled my prescription. Since I did not see him post op, all the information about my procedure was given to me by my post op nurse and the only thing I know is he supposedly "repaired a femoral hernia." What he actually did was nothing I expected from a "laparoscopic" procedure, left me in extreme pain, and lined his pockets with God only knows how many thousands of dollars from myself and my insurance company. And my post op appointment is in FIVE WEEKS. I'm on my 2nd day post op with so many regrets that he was my surgeon. I've never experienced so much pain, lack of empathy, or absolutely no information post op on any other operation I've previously had. And I've had 7 previous surgeries. This is by far the absolute worst experience of them all. Find another surgeon is my advice. If I would have known then what I know now, I'd have never went to that one and only appointment before surgery. All I can do now is hurt and pray I don't have bigger complications down the road. Please save yourself from this torture and use another surgeon.

0 Stars from me !This doctor is one of the worst doctors I have I have ever came in contact with. He did a thyroid surgery on my mother a few years ago and paralyzed vocal cord nerve she doesn't speak the same and she had to have second surgery at Emory. I called trying to get medicine for my mom because we didn't know that the nerve had been paralyzed until we went to another doctor and he said I was being rude but I was only concerned about my mother. He never apologized and my mother was not compensated for any of her pain. She still suffers from her throat being sore due to the surgery.
